So disappointing!

Like other customers, I have a number of the wonderful previous version of this shirt. The new design is very disappointing. It still protects me from sunburn, which is vital for me, but the material is flimsy and does not hang well. The plastic fasteners do not help the shirt to hang straight, so it looks crumpled. It is a tighter fit than the earlier shirts. It does not look as smart as my old shirts - I wear them for sightseeing as well as walking and they still look good. Please go back to old design!

Not What I Expected

This is my 8th ¾ sleeve Royal Robbins Expedition Shirt, and all but this one have been my favorite shirts. Unlike my other Royal Robbins shirts, this one is made out of a more limp feeling polyester material. It also has plastic snaps instead of metal ones, the fit on me is sloppy without the back darts, and there is no extra button sewn onto the inside tags. I will try to find any future Royal Robbins shirts locally to make sure to get the features that have worked so well for me.

"Update" changes make the shirt look cheap

The "updated" means that there are now exposed snaps and missing are the nice gathers on the back below the yoke and missing is the top stitching. The loss of the nicer details means the shirt looks cheap in its "updated" form. Please go back to the old covered snaps and nice gathers and top stitching. This is a super nice shirt and the quality sewing details are what have made it a best seller.

They changed this classic. Poorly made now.

I have been buying these shirts for YEARS at Royal Robin. Unfortunately, the new version is is poor. Used to be cloth/metal snaps - now cheap plastic. Fit is too long. V neck is too deep. Pocket is now backwards - you have to turn your hand back to put anything in it. Fabric is also scratchy. Very disappointed. I used to have every color, now I won't buy it anymore. Way overpriced too.

Very disappointing changes in this shirt!

I have bought these shirts for about 10 years. Unless you go back to the quality they were then , I will not buy another. They used to have metal snaps; beautiful tucks(pleats) on the back; soft durable fabric. Not anymore. The last shirt I got had a crisp fabric that gets all wrinkly. Still had metal snaps and pleats , but no more I see. Super disappointing.

Disappointed

I bought this shirt a year ago and it hadn't seen much action until this summer. After wearing it for a few hikes with a light daypack I'm noticing pilling on the back/side of this shirt, and in the armpits. There is a snag on the sleeve, and random small discolorations all over the top. I'm disappointed in the quality, especially with the hefty price tag.

Different fabric and slightly bigger. Like it.

I have been purchasing these model shirt for more than 15 years. I wish they had more colors for XL. As the other person said, a different fabric was used for these shirts. More linpy and lighter fabric. I did enjoy the fact that is slightly bigger than the other XL I already have. I still liked it. I purchased 3 of this type. They are more comfortable.

Fabric?

After reading the reviews I am reluctant to purchase. I have 5 Expedition shirts in your older fabrication and totally love them. Please return to the original style. I still receive so many compliments on those shirts. The thicker fabric allows the older style to be dressy or casual. At this price, I want both options available to me.

Changes in the Women's Expedition 3/4 sleeves

I've been wearing women's expedition 3/4 sleeves for probably 10 years and obviously loved them up until my last purchase. They have changed the snaps from metal to plastic, the material feels flimsy and the cut that use to be flattering now looks like a potato sack. Please bring back the previous quality that many of us used to love.

Not up to standard

I have many Royal Robbins clothes and have been wearing them for decades. Unfortunately this shirt does not meet expectations. The fabric is very limp and as a result the collar does not hold its shape. The plastic snaps are not as strong as the metal ones used in previous versions of this shirt. Disappointed overall.
