Pants are nice and have good stretch, pocket location, size fits well, very comfortable, however the OR logo on the left leg was peeling off on the very day I received them? Too expensive for poor quality like that.
I really wanted to love these OR lite pants, especially because I own their older model normal heavy-duty cirque pants which are AWESOME. First and foremost, the fit is really awkward. I'm a 32/32, 6ft tall, and 150lbs. I bought the medium and the legs are a smidge too short where they constantly pull up over my boots and the leg zipper does not work well. If you try to zip it over a normal hiking boot, not even a mountaineering boot, and it feels like I'm about to break the zipper it's so tight. Also, they are kind of baggy in the waist and I have a really hard time cinching it tight enough to hold them up. That's where the next BIG problem with these lie: the belt is a fine idea, but it is NOT one continuous belt. It is cut in the back and sewn into a fixed elastic part. This is SO disappointing as if you try to tighten it up, you can not pull the belt through evenly and it pulls from the center back, and the right side buckle gets jammed into the hole in the belt - all the while you cant move the extra belt strap from the left side. It's a weird and disappointing design. Next, the right leg pocket for your phone sits TOO LOW. As you walk, climb, hike, the bottom of your phone hits and rubs the top of your calf. Here's what could be improved: 1.) the legs were longer, 2.) the zipper cuffs were replaces with an elastic string loop, 3.) the waist was a tad smaller and better fit overall, 4.) the belt was one continuous band, and 5.) the side leg pocket was 1-2 inches higher, these would be my favorite pants in the world. I've found that the Black Diamond Alpine pants has a WAY better fit and function a bit better than these.
Have heard great things. I have had 3 pairs and they’re comfy, but on each, the fabric pilled HEAVILY after less than 5 miles. Stitching is coming loose. Bought my most recent pair thinking that they would be better build quality this year. Even worse. Will be returning. Only adding an extra star for fit, comfort, and wicking.
A tad long for my short frame but comfortable, flexible fit. Good option for getting after it on the trails
Please put rear pockets with zippers and I will buy a couple of these.
