First Impressions

Firstly, Its not white. Its off-white. Its closer to beige than it is to white. Its like the color of a painting canvas almost. I thought it just "looked that way" in the photos due to camera or lighting. No, it's even less white than that. The red isn't really red either. Its very orange ish. If you're looking for an ultra white futuristic sterile bright white move long because this isn't that. The main reason I didn't just get 'another black bag' was for a slick white and red bag from the future so I could feel like I came straight out of mirrors edge or something. Kinda the whole point of the selection and a big let down. 1 star for poor naming and coloring. A warning or comparison photo to show how not true white it is would be justified and I'm sure appreciated. If you do any sort of color grading of photo or video just know that this is NOT at all "White". In the pics I uploaded I tried to showcase the color disparity against a white button up shirt because the lights in my apt are all yellowy to begin with. Photos taken with Google pixel 10 pro on 50mp with default white balance and tint. That means the images are a bit warmer by default than the perceived color. Everything else is mostly good though:It does seem well made. Comes with a bottle of lubricant for the zippers. The fabric is rather stiff. I don't believe the fabric is waterproof (the material or weave) but rather it's water proofed on the inside with a thicker rubber or polymer coating. So the bag is crunchy / crinkly. Its kinda like a waxed cardstock type feel. Not ideal but not a deal breaker. Fit: The tag/card that comes attached to it says 15in laptop sleeve. I think 14is probably the max comfortably. The sleeve pocket isn't deep enough to cover the width of the 13in mac book air, about an inch sticks up out of the top of the pocket. Def still needs to be in a case imo. You can fit the laptop in the box it comes in, into the main pocket. Its a tight squeeze past the opening at an angle but it will hold it with room to spare. The crinkles and wrinkles are definitely a thing. The seams are good and corners of seams reinforced. There are pull strap dongles sewn in on both sides for both pockets. Its only wide enough inside for one shoe but plenty of room stacked. The tab on the zippers has a nice grippy texture to it. Anything sewn on to the bag has the matching red-orange color and is well stitched. The fabric is semi translucent and you can partially see through it which may or may not be worse when wet. Haven't tested that.

Perfect Carry-On?

Ordered this awesome Water Proof bag a few days ago and it arrived just in time for a short trip. First impressions are awesome. Lots of pockets and shaped well enough to stuff them without losing access. The sling strap is comfortable and adjustable. Only issue is I wish the top part of the sling strap had a bit more grip as the velcro tab keeps coming apart when throwing it over my shoulder. I will just use a velcro cable strap and it should fix it right up. Great bag!

Scoured the NET this was the closet I could find to what I needed! Blown away when arrived.

Was looking for a fully submersible crossbody as I do a lot of on site drafting in the Marine Industry. The Kadet Max WP is able to fit my Asus Rogue Flow Z13, Orbitkey Hybrid Laptop Sleeve, Asus ZenScreen 15.6" , 3Dconnexion Spacemouce Wireless, Wireless, Key Board and Mouse, Maollia Laptop Stand, 2 Phones, Full Note Pad, 35ft Tape measure. Dakine Tech Packing Cube for a DJI Mavick Mini and controler, and still has some space. Had been using a Yeti 28L Waterproof, but the it was to big and everything felt clunky in it. Looked at the New Cayo but wanted a Sling. I've known about Chrome since inseption, Back in my BMX Days. Glad I finally purchased.

Love it!

Bought two new waterproof bags as I’m moving to Washington state. Super happy with this one and the urban ex backpack. I’ve always preferred sling bags when I’m biking so that was the main appeal with this one. I was debating between Chrome and Timbuk2 and am so happy I went with Chrome. I was genuinely impressed with all that these bags offer, as well as how well they’re constructed and how clean they look. Easily exceeded my expectations for both bags.It feels extremely well made and durable. Waterproof zippers are definitely no joke. This comfortably holds all my rain gear, computer and I put my u-lock in the front pocket. I like the chest buckle on these new models, but it’s cool that you can swap it for the old school buckles still too. Keep it up chrome!

Im a mtg card player abd have been looking for a sizeable wp bag that is a sling and secure to wear for long periods of time. This product has been so far exceeding all expectations. I love the weight and feel.NOTE: 6'5 bigger build, picture shows setup

Week review

I work in navy shipyards and so i needed a work bag to carry a laptop, my tools (flashlights, mirrors, knives) and paperwork. So far i love the comfort, i think it looks great, i love the zippers because it gives me a lot of reassurance that they wont fail on me. (Im not a small dude. I dont mind the little bit of extra strength needed to open it. Just takes a second to get used to.)I dont like the plastic clips. I ordered a 2 inch seat belt buckle right away and the smaller support buckle has already shattered on me. It was my fault. Slammed it between the car door as i was closing my truck by accident. Regardless, its sturdy, comfy and fits my needs. The white color against the red highlights really catches peoples attention. Super dope bag.

Less than exemplary

Chrome Industries has phenomenal bag products. Hands down. From the materials used, their durability, and ergonomics, all that is top notch. Until I got this bag, I normally would say that aesthetically, their products are the same exceptional level. I currently own 9 of their bags, so including backpacks, messenger bags, slings, and bike bags. Then I got the Future White kadet max bag. It’s just not white, more of a dirty off-white... like almost taupe... which is weird. It’s also obviously intentional because the stitching and awesome webbing straps all match the color tone.Maybe I’m petty? I dunno. The bag is pretty expensive and I just would have expected more of a brilliant or bright tone based on the name of the color and the marketing images viewed on my PC & mobile devices.

Great overall but not what I had hoped

Overall this is a great bag but it wasn’t exactly what I had hoped it would be. I really like the way it distributes the weight of what’s in it both with and without the stabilizing strap. The zippers keep the water out and help the bag keep its shape well. I like that the zippers are secure but there isn’t a great way to hold onto the bag when zipping. There are loops where you can attach something like a carabiner to create a better holding position, but it would have been nice if it was already there instead of something I had to find a solution for. My biggest problem is I am finding that it is much smaller than I expected and I have a hard time fitting the same amount of everyday items than the bag that I replaced it with. Would recommend as an everyday bag if you just want to carry a laptop and a notebook but a little too small for an everyday adventure bag.

5 stars for scuba divers. Two stars for me.

I'm going to sell this bag. Already bought the regular Kadet Max. The WP version feels like it's rhino-lined and the material is very noisy. The waterproof zippers mean that they only open and close one way--with the zipper oriented down when you carry it over your right shoulder. If you don't zip it quite all the way, small things will fall out. The bag is waterproof, and almost air tight.

Zipper breaks immediately

I thought my bag would be different. I read the reviews and was in denial. On the first day the zipper got off track. I fixed it, but everytime i zipped i could tell it was at any moment it was going to fail and it did....permanently. the zipper which didnt fail feels similarly precarious. It is not confidence inspiring. I am returning and suggest Chrome recall these and/or stop selling.
