The North Face  Base Camp Gear Box - L

I recently bought the base camp duffel in the small size, and found that we needed more storage for our ski equipment. I bought the XL version of the base camp box and can now fit four helmets, ski gloves, hats in the mesh pockets.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this gear box and use it to store camping items and tools in my vehicle. It's semi-rigid and can be packed down flat, but still feels sturdy when you put a lot of weight in it. Compared to a hard shell trunk, it weighs significantly less, so it's much more manageable to move around from vehicle to campsite and back. I only wish they had more colors so I could use the colors to identify contents of 3 or more of them.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm loving the gear box so far, they're durable, have a ton of carrying handles, collapsible so they save space, and are easy on the eyes. I love that they have integrated metal kickstands so you can stand it up as you're loading it, super handy. Right now mine fit all of my camping and climbing gear, so the internal mesh pockets give an extra layer of organizations for the bits&pieces. 5 stars for a reason, thanks TNF!!!

Both are great totes that we could never do without after having used them for several months. We drive a Yukon XL so these don't take up too much space, but what makes them even better is that they can collapse. In a small car, I would recommend the medium tote for sure. We use them for grocery shopping, beach gear, thrifting, and just about anything we need to carry in and out of the house. I highly recommend the purchase. Only time will tell how well they hold up, but they definitely feel durable, and the straps are sturdy.

Very functional, great use of space, I could only think of one minor improvement - and that would be if there was a very thin insulating liner, allowing you to use this as a marginal cooler. The stiffening bars are a great addition, and although I can't imagine a filter gearbox being successfully stacked on top of another one because of weight, it certainly provides a handy compartment for the drawing of a car, or for your gear closet and keeping things sorted.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I initially wanted the gear box in the medium size but since it was sold out I opted to get the large size and I'm glad I did. On our last adventure, the large size fit an oversized sleeping, a normal sleeping bag, a pillow, and my Wawona blanket. It keeps all my sleeping essential nicely organized and easily accessible. I also quite enjoy that the gear box is collapsible for easy storage!

I purchased this bag for my kid to go 2 weeks to summer camp. Waterproof for the boat ride to the island, can fit under a bunk, huge space for packing and open Lid design makes it super easy to search for whatever you need. While it might not be base camp, for summer camp this bag was an absolute win. Will purchase a second one for when my second child goes to camp.

These things are sooooo handy! Love them for camping, groceries, beach gear, snow gear, or just throwing whatever in it when I need more than 2 hands to bring stuff in from the car. Both sizes are uniquely handy for different situations. I'm glad I bought both sizes & will probably buy a couple more for my wife's car.

It also rains a lot in my area and I feel confident in this bin's ability to keep my gear dry. I bought another one to store all of my clothes. Worth buying this on sale.
