Short lived durability
My Muck Boots didn't get a lot of use. Only when out with the canoe maybe 10~15 times a year over the last three years, and the rest of the time, were kept out of the weather. Went to get them out for this season, and they are dry rot cracked all over the uppers. Certainly would expect better for the money spent.
Poor Durability for Price
This is NOT a boot for hunting, hiking or field work. After 6 days of field work the boots are showing significant wear and ripped after getting snagged on a raspberry. The fit is roomy and not ideal for uneven terrain or long days of walking. The waterproofing works and insulation is sufficient for below freezing temps. I recommend this boot for farm work or around-the-house chores.
Fantastic boots while they lasted!
While these were undoubtedly the warmest and most comfortable wellies I have owned, they aren't as durable as I'd expected. After two years the sole started to detach from the boot allowing water to seep in, causing the boots to squelch with every step. The rubber has also started to split above the ankle where the boot flexes when bending and the seam is coming away there so my feet no longer stay dry when wading in water. I wear the boots a lot as a professional photographer so maybe two years is their usual life span or maybe I have been unlucky but for the price I expected them to last longer.
Great quality, long lasting, comfy
This is my 2nd pair. First pair lasted >8 years. All other brands of rubber boots I've bought rip/tear within 1/2 year. I wear these everyday on my farm and for fieldwork (I'm a field biologist). Very comfortable-I can wear them all day and they're as comfortable than my favorite hiking boots. A bit too warm in summer, but great rest of year. This 2nd pair is a bit more roomy than the first pair so my heel moves around a bit but a tradeoff because this pair slides off easier- first pair was tough to get off. I added another insole to take up the extra space on this pair. Highly recommended.
Almost 5
Love muck boots of all kinds. There needs to be a version more resistant to the muck of a feed yard. Here we are ankle/shin deep in bull butter or water often. Our butter is particularly hard on any boots. These muckmasters are bolstered more, up from the sole, than other versions, so I'm hoping that the usual crack' or breech of exterior that has occurred around the ball of my feet, will be delayed for quite some time. Extra durability and or flexibility at points that crease', or fold from toe bend would be great. Overall great boots!
Muckmaster boots
This is my 4th pair of Muckmaster boots I have purchased. They have been a great boot for working on the farm, where I perform a lot of climbing in and out of equipment and I also use them for hunting. The sole is durable and provides a lot of traction in all types of weather conditions. The only issue I have ever had with this boot is that after about 3 or 4 years the flex point in the ankle will deteriorate and crack but, that is after daily use for 3 to 4 years. These boots are well worth the money and I would recommend them to anyone.
Probably the most comfortable wellington boot on the market
Over the years I have had five or six pairs of these boots. In the past they have lasted between twelve and eighteen months. Unfortunately the last pair only lasted four months, having split on a join just above the heel. This is where the previous two pairs failed. The only other criticisms are in relation to the tread which makes the boots lethal on wet concrete surfaces and they do tend to get hot and sweaty during prolonged use in warmer weather. The fact that they are very warm in cold weather makes up for that.
These boots are the best ever
I have run the Muck Wetlands for the last 15 years and that was only 2 pairs over that course. The wetlands are an amazing boot. But! But! I just tried to shake it up a bit and found these. Same build as the wetlands. Same treads. Superior bite in snow, ice, and mud. But these boots are much better for longer walks and all day use. Like I said, I loved the wetlands but the top of the boot always slapped against my calves and were fairly loud. These are much tighter to the calves and have a little more warmth.
Quality Boot
Great quality for MN winters. Bought these since I was tired of snow falling into my old boots. Wear these daily walking dogs in the morning and shoveling. Wanted to test how warm they actually were so didn't wear socks in 10 degree weather. Took an hour before toes got cold (not numb, just cold) so that passed the test for me. Plenty of room to wear with thick wool socks too. You won't be disappointed. This is my second pair of Muckboots, first winter pair though. I've been satisfied every time.
Wetlands and Wyoming Rural Life
Originally I bought these in Washington State, to work with the NRCS in the wetlands on the wet side of the state. They worked great. The only issue I had was that they did not work great with my insoles, but you can put your insoles in them. Fast forward a couple of years and I moved to southeast Wyoming, where I own some acres and in the winter we loads of snow and eventually tons of mud, So far they have been great for all environments.
