adidas  Terrex Freehiker 3 Ultra GORE-TEX Hiking Shoes - Men's

The best pair of hiking shoes I’ve ever had! I live in Colorado and do a lot of hiking, trail running and climbing and have absolutely loved these. The rubber is super sticky so you have extra grip on the rocks. I took them scrambling on the flatirons in Boulder and they were exceptional! The gore-Tex makes them super waterproof and after 3 super wet hikes, crossing streams and in the rain, they kept my feet super dry. Also, having the knit upper gaiter on the shoe really helps keeps little pebbles and stuff out. Plus, they’re super light so feels great for how many features they put in there. 10/10 shoes, HIGHLY recommend.

I have purchased over 20 pairs of Adidas Terrex Freehikers over the last few years. I’m obsessed with the 2.0s The sizing on the new Ultra 3 is different than the 2.0 the Ultra 3 runs big, the cushioning support in ankle/heal area is not as good as the 2.0 I do LOVE the grip on the Ultra 3, I love that the rubber outsole taps up and on top of toe. The cushioning is great! I love the easy quick lace system. HATE the colours. Bought the collegiate green. But honestly Adidas, figure out some cool colour ways, the current line up is absolutely hideous. The 2.0s had great colour options. The all black could be sick, but are ruined by the ugly brown outsole and the yellow continental logo.

I have many variations and colorways of the 1.0 & 2.0 and was very curious about the 3.0 especially the sock-top 3.0 Ultra GTX because it's what I liked about the sock-like 1.0 GTX for all season use including summer. I had them for a week now and being comparing the 3.0 Ultra-GTX next to the 1.0 GTX, 2.0 & 2.0 MID GTX daily with a thin pair of merino compression socks on my wide flat feet. I put one on each foot for one hour walking the dog on sidewalk, parks with wet grassy hills & valleys of 20+ degree gradings plus skateboard park than swap them around back-to-back in warm humid days. This is what I found: - 3.0 U-GTX is True to Size - correct sizing for an active shoes is: length from heel to the longest toe plus the top width of the thumb (where "Rule of Thumb" phrase comes from) - 3.0 U-GTX is as warm as the 2.0 none-GTX & cooler than the 2.0 MID GTX in warm humid days - 3.0 has no hot-spot under the foot while 2.0 has just a bit and 1.0 had a lot more - 3.0 U-GTX provides better tongue comfort - 3.0 U-GTX lugs are more parallel to the edge which creates a larger contacting surface for better stability - 3.0 U-GTX's new foam absorb most of the impact while 1.0/2.0 absorb more by the lug which is harsher to the feet - 3.0 U-GTX has less upper toe protection which is actually great for me with less restrictions for my toes - 3.0 U-GTX absorbs heel impact way better than 1.0/2.0 GTX with much higher heel angle. - 3.0 U-GTX is lighter than the 2.0 or 1.0 GTX - 3.0 U-GTX lacing system is great but they could be shorter Overall I am very happy with the new design, weight, better comfort & support over the Freehiker 2.0 & 1.0 regular, GTX, MID, LOW, Rain RDY models

First the lacing system hands down my favorite! Easy to get on and they are not loose when tighten. I know this is not a running shoe but I did a little jog in them and the shoes were not flopping around. Second the comfortability of the Freehiker 3 impressive for a hiking shoe didn't give my feet any problems.

I've worn these several times since I purchased them. They are very comfortable and support well. But this weekend I wore them while moving a 2 bedroom home. And not only were they amazingly comfortable but the sole felt like it was "biting into" the metal U-Haul loading ramp as I was walking back and forth, up and down. The grip was unmatched. Im a huge Terrex owner and these live up to their name and quality . .

I really love the ankle support and easy lace technology. I feel supported in these shoes and they’re light and not at all heavy which is perfect for all my outdoor activities.

These are so awesome, they have Gore Tex material yet my feet don’t get too hot! I’ve only wore them for a whole day once so far but they seem to be breaking in very nicely! True to size for me as the width is a tad narrow but good enough for my feet. Those with wider feet may way to consider going a half size up from your normal sneaker size. Hopefully adidas keeps producing these because I think they’re so good! Perfect balance of stability & comfort.

They’re incredibly comfortable right out of the box, feel supportive without being heavy, and the Gore-Tex has been great for wet surfaces. The grip is excellent on trails, and they feel like a regular shoe when I run errands after. These hit a perfect balance for me of sporty, modern, slightly futuristic, and easy to wear with pretty much anything. Definitely one of my favorite purchases for travel and being outdoors.

These are my 3rd pair of Freehikers and so far the best. The sock like collar is great for keeping debris while being super comfortable. They are totally waterproof and the cushioning is on par with the high end max cushioning hiker. I particularly love that the toes are protected but there is no annoying stiff bumper that hurts my toes or top of nails. I have worn them everyday and on hard technical trails, crossing streams, rock scrambling, rainy long hikes, etc. They've done great in all conditions and I'm impressed with how they stay stable even on steep downhill cross laoding. Because of the stack height, they might not be the absolute best rock scrambling approach shoes but there are other shoes for that. I sized a half size down for a snug fit.
