Arc'teryx  Beta SL Jacket - Men's

Really disappointed in this product. It started wetting out on the first day of use and left makes all over the jacket just from light rainfall. I was told to wash it and re waterproof it, but that did not stop it from wetting out even from 5 minutes of light drizzle. However it did help get rid of the marks. Really disappointed especially for the price.

I just got this jacket and it absorbed water espy on the sleeve's Not as advertised.

When I received the jacket I liked the fit and the fact that it is lightweight. But... first time I tested the jacket in light rain (hardly wore the jacket 2-3 times before that), directly after a couple of minutes water was not repelled like it should have and jacket got wet directly in a couple of different spots. Would never expect a gore-tex jacket to fail like that. I had jackets with different membrane types and also much cheaper ones which worked better in the rain. Maybe the DWR was not applied correctly in the factory? I sent the jacket back. Too bad because I had really high expectations.

Ultra light summer mission layer. This jacket is perfect when you really don't want to carry a rain shell, but you'll be in trouble when you don't have one. So small you'll forget you have it with you, but when it starts raining and the temperature drops on that all day mission you'll be glad you have it with you. Breathable yet durable with a slim fit you can wear under your running vest. Perfect light weight waterproof layer.

I am extremely disappointed with the quality and performance of this jacket. On its very first use, during nothing more than a light drizzle, the jacket developed visible soak-through spots. I followed up by reapplying DWR treatment, but instead of improving performance, the problem became even worse — now the entire jacket shows wet spots just by running it briefly under a tap. This is completely unacceptable for a product marketed and priced at a premium level. For a brand that positions itself as the benchmark for technical outerwear, this level of water resistance failure right out of the box is not only frustrating but also feels like a serious lapse in quality control. At this price point, customers expect reliable waterproof protection — not a garment that fails in mild conditions. I am left feeling let down by both the product and the brand reputation it fails to live up to.

Beautiful jacket. Love the black sapphire color. Jacket is noisier (crunchy) than expected. Sleeves slightly long, hood very large. Enjoy the slimmer fit. Tested 30 minute walk drizzle and light rain, no repellency issues with DWR from factory (see photos). Would recommend.

Look very fashion , I like the color very much , I am waiting for this color long time

I loved my original beta, i got this newer one and while it looks great and keeps you dry, the hood is useless if there's any wind, you can tighten it easily, but in less than 5 seconds it comes off your head, there's nothing to hold the tightness like the ones around the waist section. So if you work outside like myself in Vancouver, it's basically useless. Also, for reference, I'm 6'2", 182 pounds and the medium fits perfectly, with the older style i was a large.

I dont know guys, but imho sizing is out of order. Seriously. I have always used M sizing and my measurements didnt change at all. My previous Beta SL is still fine, little worn out so I tried and compared M and S of the new model. So the M is bigger in every aspect, and sleeves are tooo long realy. While the S size is simply too small... Maybe not the sleeves, they measure just fine 🙂 Dear Asteryx team, I am fan of your products sinse like 2012... And always loved your style and technically advanced clothes. But this time, I dont know how... But the sizing changes are to radical for me. Looking forward to revised release of this model. Cheers

Haven’t had it for very long yet but have used it to travel to turkey and a few countries in Europe. Biggest issue so far is fit. Medium the sleeves fit perfect but is far too tight on my shoulders, couldn’t wear it. So I got a large, it is fairly loose now but the sleeves are far too long. I feel like I’m a pretty standard build and normally don’t have issues. This jacket is built for a thin tall Scandinavian build. I do love the packability of the jacket but it wrinkles very bad, which I guess is the price you pay for packability. Other than that it is light weight and waterproof, haven’t had it long enough to speak to durability.
