Smartwool  Active Fleece Insulated Training Gloves

I haven't had a chance to really put these through the paces, yet. I bought them for deep winter runs along the lake in Chicago. But, they fit well. Good materials and cut. They look well made, and I have confidence that they will satisfy the need when the time comes. My only beef, which is a small one, is the eDevice tips in the forefinger and thumb. They're a little too stiff for my taste. Seems like they're made of leather. They work OK, but not quite as nimble as a softer material would be. Not going to be an issue for me as I will be using these primarily only while running, and that means just a few taps on the watch here and there. Otherwise, another fine Smartwool product.

I am so glad I got them as back up cause my other gloves were not nearly as thick and warm. Glad that I could use my fingers easily as well. These are not too bulky and as a XS hand size I was so glad to find something that would fit me without super long fingers. Great for the increasingly cold weather in Austin, TX. #sweepstakes

I bought these gloves to use on cool blue bird ski days. I tested them on my daily commute before I hit the mountain and they have great dexterity and a trimmed profile that didn't feel excessive for everyday use. I love the soft feel of the merino wool, and the e-touch fingertips are pretty reliable. Despite concerns about their ability to hold up in snow, I was pleasantly surprised with how warm and dry they kept my fingers!

I know now that I'm an XS for Smartwool gloves. I follow the sizing guide, but there's about half a centimeter in the tip of each finger which makes me constantly want to interlock my fingers in an effort to readjust and not deal with the awkward feeling it causes. I admittedly have less than ideal circulation and for the purpose of long dog walks the gloves do not keep me comfortable in 20F weather. They are plenty good getting from the car to the ski lodge or other short outdoor activities, just not for 20+ minute walks with the dog. The design is sharp. The cuffs are long enough to fit under your coat and not feel a draft. The palm is lightly reinforced and will work well with a dog leash, but be careful with razor sharp ski/snowboard edges. The touch screen function is spotty at best, but may work better with a more snug fit. I would still recommend this glove with the aforementioned caveats.

Fit is good, thumb & pointer fingers are not super effective on all touch screens (very difficult on 7 month old car's touch screen) Fabric patch on palm has virtually no grip even just driving so I'm not sure how they will perform while holding trekking poles, etc haven't had the opportunity to test that or really how warm they will be in temps below about 35° or so.

I have numerous other Smartwool items that I've been VERY happy with (shirts, hats, socks), but I unfortunately found these gloves disappointing. I was looking for warm gloves and I was out walking in 39* temps and my hands were quite cold, and it gets much colder than that where I live in the Colorado mountains. :(

Love all my Smartwool gear. Use it all the time. Today these gloves, my active fleece headband, active fleece quarter zip, and active fleece wind tights went up Green Mountain in Boulder, CO. Was 15 degrees and went up 2700 ft elevation in the mountain's shadow (cold side) and this gear kept me warm!

Fits well; I ordered size L although measured 8"" (which would be size M per chart) since my fingers are long (also measure 8"" in length). Flexible enough to leash dog, do yard work. #sweepstakes

I walk my dog every morning. I bought them because they advertised as fleece lined and insulated. It was around 38 degrees and the chill cut right through the gloves. It wasn't until the temperature reaches around 42 degrees that I feel they keep my hands warm.

I love them!! I have RA and gloves are hard to find that don't have the fingers too long. Purchased the small and they are molding to my hand. They are wonderfully warm too for a WI winter! Going to buy some for my wife before she steals mine!!
