Husky Boy sizing
I pretty much exclusively wear Brooks shorts and pants for running, and have done so for many years. I have a 34” waist and a 34” inseam. I always order size Large, and they’ve always fit perfectly - until I received these new Spartan pants. The waist is four inches larger than the ones I bought a year ago. I can’t exchange them for a Medium, because then the legs would be too short. It seems that Brooks has switched to “Husky Boy” sizing for its pants: large waist, short legs.
At least 4 inches too short
I have used Brooks' products (running shoes, tops, pants) for many years and have always been very satisfied. I ordered the Spartan 2.0 because the original Spartan Pant (which was an excellent fit) was no longer available. I was extremely disappointed and returned them. The Spartan 2.0 was EXTREMELY SHORT...by at least 4 inches. I am the same dimensions as the "model" pictured (pic showed pant tapering to bottom of ankle). The actual "fit" on the "Large" was well up my shins. I liked that the pockets were larger than the original Spartan, but that's about it. I hope Brooks goes back to the original Spartan design (and length) but keeps the pocket design from the 2.0.
Great, but...
Love these pants; Great fit, feel and wieght. One major flaw. The zipper on the legs isn't long enough to enable me to easily remove the pants without taking off my running shoes. I wear them over my running shorts. Wearing them as an outer layer to the gym or while hiking or riding my bike I can't easily remove them when I arrive or heat up.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve worn Spartan Pamts fur years. With the 2.0 I have to get it ses to the pocket zippers. They used to be vertical and now they’re on an angle. Also the ribbon that’s used for the tie at the waistband is a little slippery and that makes it difficult to get a good right connection.
Solid pant, glad to have.
Great pant. A little warm when standing still a warm place, but a good thing I imagine for the winter. We'll see. Much larger waistband than my previous brooks pants, and I like the taper to the ankle.
4/5. 5/5 with small adjustment.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Excellent pant for running. Walking. Lounging. What I especially appreciate is their light weight. And the zippers at the bottom. I'd like them even more if the pockets were cut just a bit deeper.
Most comfortable pants I’ve ever owned!
These pants are the most comfortable pants I’ve ever owned. I want to do everything in these pants besides just run and exercise! Great running pants, great lounge pants; great everything!
Best running pants around
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My favorite running pants. Light and protection from the wind. I use them on cold runs. I wear an extra small and the size and fit was perfect for me.
Very impressed
Very impressed with the quality of this clothing. Perfect fit and great materials. Perfect for training or going for a walk. They are not heavy
Too short!
The pants are way too short. I am considering returning them. Other than that they seem to be a quality pair of pants with nice features.
