Sanuk  Yoga Joy II Flip-Flops - Women's

The soles are double-layered, with a yoga mat material on the insole and a flexible plastic on the outsole. While the soles are comfortable, the straps are not. They are made of a plasticky faux-leather that does not feel nice against your feet (particularly if you have wider feet as the side straps are a bit narrow) and the toe straps rub.

I cannot wear cheap plastic flip flops because the hard plastic ends up hurting my toes, so one year while on vacation with sore feet, I stopped at a little beach shop and bought a pair of these. The strap between the toes is soft and narrow enough that I have no problems, and the yoga mat bottom is comfortable enough to walk on all day. They are the next best thing to being barefoot. Now as soon as one pair wears out (I usually get two summers out of each pair), I buy another. I wear these all summer (and into fall), with swim suits, jeans, dresses, skirts, etc. My feet are perhaps on the narrow side and usually a 6.5/7 and the 7 fits perfectly.

I own many pairs of Sanuks, including a pair of Yoga Joy in pink from ~2 years ago. The pair of Yoga Joy in black I ordered recently is of very poor quality in comparison. The footbed is considerably more narrow than my old pair of Yoga Joy (in the same size) and the straps feel looser. The green Sanuk logo rubbed off on my heels during my first wear (with dry feet) and will not come off my feet without serious scrubbing. The sandals now look weirdly smeared at the heel and I'm hesitant to wear them again (and end up with more paint on my feet). My pink sandals have logos that still look brand new, even after significant wear. This new pair is a huge disappointment.

I suppose everyone is in love with the yoga sole--I am not fond of it, I find it too slippery when sweaty (and I often am, in warm ares where one would wear these). I would not have bought them had Sanuk not stopped production on their best basic flip-flops ever, the ones I wore for years, that are similar in style to these but without yoga soles, with a better shaped toe, and with a softer, more comfortable strap. The strap on this shoe is surprisingly stiff an uncomfortable: surprising to combine with their oh so comfortable yoga sole. What gives, Sanuk? Where are my favorite slippers?

Got the Yoga Joy, Classic Yoga Mat, and the new tan leather sandals. The leather are seeming to imprint my feet quickly, wish they would have been a bit firmer but still quality for price. The yoga flip flops are amazing! I live in these, and have multiple pairs. My reccomendation is buying several as well, one pair for when your feet are clean and one pair for day old, non washed feet. Sounds silly, but these bad boys stink up within the 1st month, if you get them wet forget about it! They somehow get soapy and squishy, never drying. Besides those things they are fantastic.

Two weeks after receiving my sanuk yoga flip flops I went on a camping/rafting trip. We ended up getting stranded on the rio grand river for 20 hours, we had to trek over rocky ground, through rivers and clay mud. I was wearing my sanuk flip flops and was very happy with their durability. Flip flops were not the best shoes to be wearing but every time we got stuck in the mud and I had to pull my shoes out of several inch deep clay, they stayed in one piece. By the end of the trip, my shoes were still in one piece, after a rinse off, you couldn't even tell they had been through a strenuous and crazy trek as there were no tears, scratches, marks etc. I am very happy with this product, they are extremely comfortable and durable.

The upper part of the right sandal seemed to have gotten misshapen during shipping (probably because they come in a bag), so it didn't fit right. Also the upper portion of both was scratchy on the tops of my feet. I found the arch support annoying. And, the yoga mat sole was not as soft and comfortable as the other Sanuk yoga mat sandals I own. I'm sending them back for a refund and I'll buy my Sanuks in-store where I can try them on first. I assumed they were all as comfortable as the others my husband and I have owned.

After purchasing this product I immediately started having problems. The shoes quickly developed a black stain around the outside (and since they were only worn on the beach I doubt this was user error). Furthermore, the top layer of foam has already started peeling off the bottom making a hole in the front even though the shoes are only about a week old. Finally the strap has already started breaking at the top. I am disappointed considering how nice the flip flops started out and the price point.

I normally wear size 7/7.5. The smallest size available was 8, so i took a chance. My friend wears 8 so i figured she could use these if they were too big for me. They are big but not overly. I can walk comfortably and i like that both my feet are entirely on the slipper. (Sometimes my toes or front sides of my feet hang over or real close to the edges.) So sorry Judy, I am keeping these. Lol. The thickness is just right, about 5/8", the platform is a cushy firm, and there is arch support too.

Just bought my third pair. Love the first pair so much! The quality had gone downhill. The second pair i bought fell apart less than a year after getting them. I figured it was a fluke and night a third pair. This most recent pair is not sized correctly, runs smaller than the last two pairs. On top of this, the green ink used to brand the flip flops on the heal had rubbed off leaving a mess on the flip flops and my heals. I will be looking for a new brand.
