Salewa  Wildfire 2 Approach Shoes - Men's

based on my initial try-on of this shoe im a fan. it is a narrow fit as you would expect from an alpine approach shoe. the toe box is more narrow than my other approach shoes but still reasonable. im a fan of the toe cap rubber, its very tacky. tread pattern looks like a vibram. concerned about all the exposed cordy bits around the heel... looks kinda cool i guess but not sure how that will hold up going through scree fields over time. overall a top notch shoe.

The Salewa Men’s Wildfire 2 is a sharp-looking shoe that feels extremely solid and well built. The construction inspires confidence, and it seems more than capable of handling rugged hikes or demanding outdoor work. The materials feel durable and supportive, especially underfoot and around the toe. That said, the fit runs noticeably narrow for a typical U.S. foot. If you have a wider foot, you may find it snug, particularly in the forefoot. For those with a narrow or performance-oriented fit preference, it could be ideal—but wider-footed buyers may want to size carefully or try before buying. Overall, it’s a tough, good-looking shoe with excellent build quality, best suited for narrower feet.

Water proofing is good,very comfortable, got best 2 mile in them pretty durable only downside is metal eyelet rubs laces good bit but hasn’t cut them yet had for year now

This is my second pair of Wildfire 2s (the first pair has held up well, I just wanted a second pair in a different color). This is a great shoe for medium-distance hikes on rocky trails, and it looks good around town. I find them to be very comfortable and sturdy. The fit is on the tighter side and the toe cap is inflexible, so I recommend sizing up a 1/2 size or wearing very thin socks if you use these for longer hikes. I wear a 9.5 in Nike and ordered these in a 9.5.

I ordered the shoes for a travel adventure … I wish I had returned them, but loving the brand I threw the box away & just carried on. Regardless of insert, they just don’t fit right … I posit there a few more sets of eyelets would have solved the problem. Also, the laces keep popping out of their plastic hooks when tightened - extremely annoying having to completely UNLACE to reinsert into those stupid hooks.

This is my second pair. Great for bumming around town, hiking, even working out. Solid construction and built with materials that last. Tread is trustworthy even on slippery surfaces. Insoles are modular to give you options before needing to buy third party insoles. Beginner/expert...doesn't matter, they'll work for you.

I love these shoes! Salewa is so amazingly consistent at size and good quality. Out of the box and on my feet with no hot spots or blisters. Fits like a glove. The soles have great traction, and their lace system works perfectly at pulling certain areas tight against my foot, resulting in a perfect fit.

The men’s wildfyre 2 fit well out of the box or with included sizers. I use the shoe for light alpine approach and also in the gym. The platform is stable on them and lends itself to a functional fitness style application, or even short warmup runs are no problem.

This shoe has been great. Super comfortable right out of the box and has held up well. I've had many days wearing these with 12k+ steps and my feet don't seem to mind at all. I've worn them in mud and rain and they always clean up easily.

Function, quality, and overall design make these shoes a great option for multiple activities. They run small based on US sizing, order a 1/2 size up. They get better and better with time as they break in.
