I'm 5'-10", 175lbs. The large
I'm 5'-10", 175lbs. The large fits very well. Enough room for a heavy fleece underneath, but not much more. Fits well with just a tshirt. Great job at cutting wind. Decent breathability, but could get moist if active above 40 degrees. Stuffs easily into one of the zipped hand packets. Features are excellent: waist cinch, pockets, hood shape and brim. One missed opportunity - the hand-warmer pockets semi-float inside the jacket, but are stitched to the jacket body on the vertical edges. It seems to create an inside dump pocket, which would be awesome, but the bottom edge isn't stitched so the space between the hand warmer pocket and face of the jacket is a pass through space, not for stashing stuff. Minor detail. Great quality and excellent to throw in a backpack for an extra layer of protection.
I ordered a large. Definitely
I ordered a large. Definitely fit too tight. All my tops are that size and I am a "regular". 5'10, 190lbs, athletic build. Always have room for layering. The vital was too tight in chest and way too tight at hips. Sent back to exchange for an XL which looks from specs like it'll fit better but the sleeves will be too long. Your site describes as a regular fit but I'd clasify more as a "slim" fit. I think it's worth noting that you sell these in america and we are a land of the overfed so you may want to adjust sizing description for this item accordingly. On another note, while I did not yet receive the new one to try in the field, I was appreciative of the finishing touches. Hoot fit well over a hat with a brim or a helmet liner, the button closure mid chest is perfect for venting, pocket placement and wrist closures seemed spot on. Noping the hood and wrists are still a good match for me on the XL.
Have not had a chance
Have not had a chance to try yet, it’s in my kit. I’ll let you know when I get to use.
