Best lightweight sweater in green
I bought this alpine men’s sweater in green, and it has been my go to sweater for so many reasons. It is great on its own to wear in bridge season between Winter and Spring or layered in the Winter for most Winter sports. Not only is it functional and comfortable but it looks great and my girlfriend likes that it brings out the green in my eyes:)
Excellent do-it-all, cold-weather natural insulator

With that out of the way: The alpine crew is a very soft thermal layer that doesn't suffer from any traditional wool scratchiness, despite being 100% merino wool. The piece blends the line between heavyweight base layer and active warmth midlayer, due to how breathable it is. I wore it while running in the mid-40s and it breathed and wicked moisture well. It kept me the perfect temperature the entire morning. Paired with some type of wind blocking layer, the temp range of this piece is even wider. This crew plus a windshirt was my go-to setup for PNW shoulder season backpacking. The fit is true to size and flattering, especially for a 'base' layer. I wear a large in most tops and this fits great. The style is still fairly technical, but the color blocking adds just a little something extra over a standard black base layer. Overall I would recommend this piece for cold-weather active pursuits.
