Sizing is really weird. I had to return them. Couldn't wear them. I ordered a size 10, my normal size. Every single size 10 shoe i've ordered is a 44. Northside size 10 is a 43 on the box. My toes were smashed in the toe. Further, my wife, who is a size 42 tried them on her toes were touching. So size 10 Northside appears to be a 8.5-9 or a 41. Funny looking boots, which is fine, since I destroy a couple pairs of light hikers every year. Couldn't evaluate them because of non-standard sizing. I recommend trying them on in store first, and not ordering online.
Have worn these twice on trail maintenance sweeps in the CVNP. Was concerned that I might need some break in time but my concerns were unfounded. These hikers have a roomy feel but good support for my feet. Have found myself in wet , muddy conditions out on the trail but feet have remained dry and the shoes clean up easily.
