I LOVED them, except ...
I purchased the 40 and 70 liter bags for an April river trip. I loved the bags features: internal compression straps, the external end handles, and the detachable backpack straps. They seemed waterproof for the splashing they got, although they didn't get tested in big rapids. However, as is true of zippers in general, the zippers don't function well when they get sand and silt on them. With 40 mph winds blowing tents full of sand (typical April in the Four Corners) these bags weren't appropriate for rafting.
Excellent expedition bag
I'm an archaeologist and just got back from a month in the field in rural southern Ethiopia. This bag was flown, tied to 4x4 trucks, and secured to a donkey for the last (and then first) leg of the trip and everything inside was safe, sound and fresh throughout. Tough bag. Love the reasonable size, simple easy-to-grab and heft handles, and waterproof protections. I'm impressed.
Bag is amazing! Works wonderful
