My EDC sack

I brought my Quasar more out of brand loyalty than needing it to replace another sack. I was looking for something to use as a work/social bag and it filled that spot perfectly. I use it for carrying my work kit and the laptop sleeve is invaluable but having the range of organisation pockets in the front pouch is the icing on the cake. Plenty of room to carry all the odds bits I need every day but I can empty it out and it can quickly be rerolled into a day hike sack. It's got the usual excellent build quality you expect from Osprey and surprisingly I have found the front bungee cord more useful than I thought. All round it's an excellent bit of kit.

Very high quality bag. The

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very high quality bag. The organization is well thought out, and I feel confident I will be able to rely on it for years to come. Easily fits my 14" Macbook Pro in the laptop pocket. The shoulder straps are very comfortable. Room for improvement: - The hipbelt is very thin. An optional hipbelt that is more robust would be a nice touch - The front panel is constantly crinkled leading to a less professional look. I hoped it would stay taught as in the photos and got it in all black, but the crinkled appearance seems like something a simple tweak to the fabric or body panel could improve.

Fantastic bag but missing one feature

I had an old design of this bag which I felt was much better. I really miss the clips for the water bottle holders. Yes there is the clip round where the water bottle sits, but I want to be apple to clip the top of my hydroflask as sometimes when I bend over it falls out. I also miss the the brightly coloured inside. However, the bag is still a fantastic functioning bag for commuting to and from work on my bike. I can put my laptop, ipad and note books in the inside sections and the zipped pockets at the front are great for keys, wallet, sunglasses, battery pack etc.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] 5’8”-155lbs fairly fit Love the pockets, love the usability of the pockets. Straps fit great and are padded properly. First time using a bungee system and I don’t like it. Lost two items. A hat and long sleeved shirt. First time I accepted as not knowing how to use a bungee system. Second time I watched videos and made sure it was cinched. It still fell out somewhere on the hike. I would rather have had a large dump pocket there. Lesson learned. Other than that, this is a great size for all day hiking or walking

All around great backpack!

I purchased the Blueberry colored Quasar and it is brighter than the website depicts which was a pleasant surprise! I was looking for a medium size backpack that holds a lot and this fits the bill. 2 large storage areas, smaller pockets and organization for other items, plus a fleece lined front pocket for phones/glasses. I do not like a backpack with a ton of pockets because it just leads to me digging around too much in search of items. It is not too large for my female frame and the backpack is light weight, which for a female is a plus. It does not feel cheap in any way. Only negative trivial detail is the logo looks a bit like it will rub off easy since it is just printed on. The ink looks "weak". Would have preferred a stitched on label, or at least a heavier print.

It's cute and I love

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's cute and I love the color of it! I used to own many TNF backpacks, but now they are all over on campus, and Osprey offers me something unique. I love the design of it, with a light-colored string and a darker-colored body, providing good contrast but not too much. The overall theme is also a good greenish teal, rather than just the dull black, gray, and white. This backpack is not only lightweight but also solidly constructed. I am looking forward to having it serve me for the next 10 years!

Some things great, some things bad

Weirdly designed pack. The interior sections are thoughtful and well designed but the exterior is strange. Most striking, the shoulder straps are oddly thin, narrow, and cut strange. I think carrying more than 10 pounds in this back would start to cause discomfort. Another weird design is the compression strap. This strap is OVER the water bottle pouch effectively preventing water bottle storage and also compressing the volume of the pack--it's one or the other. Why couldn't the bottle storage be placed over the strap? I think this would be good for...well I'm not really sure. Someone who carries a netbook and a very light jacket? It has a lot of volume but I am very concerned about the straps and not only the longevity but the weight it can support, which I don't perceive to be much at all.

It's just about perfect

I bought this pack for an international dive trip I will be taking. Along with everything most people pack for travel, I need to take my underwater camera, dive computer, mask, dive log, swim suit and change of clothes in case my luggage gets misdirected (that's only happened once). There's room for all of that and more. I like that this pack has an inconspicuous top carry handle along the back. The shoulder straps are comfortable and not too wide. I can get my liter hydroflask bottle in the stretchy side pockets without any problem and it looks like it will stay put. While the front adjustable cord is useful, I would rather have a shove it pocket for easy access to snacks or last minute items. I chose the blueberry color and it's nicer looking than the picture shows it. I might change the red cord to a dark blue, just personal preference.

So far so good. I

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far so good. I honestly never heard of Osprey until I did extensive research before pulling the trigger on the buy. The lifetime warranty and great feedback from multiple sources got me on board and I purchased the quasar 26 to replace my daily work backpack. As soon as I converted everything over and threw it on I was sold. My daughter is traveling abroad so I already know where I'm shopping for her gear. Osprey hands down.

Useful bit of kit

I have an odd use for this, carrying an oxygen concentrator whilst keeping the intake vents unobstructed. The elastics on the back have proved sturdy enough to cope. It also carries my other requirements. The back system is, however, not the most comfortable. It does fulfil the need of carrying a heavy bit of equipment in a more efficient manner than the shoulder bag it came in.
