I was concerned this heavyweight, 100% shirt-jacket in size medium was too large for me until I washed it in cold water in a front- loading machine and hung it to dry! The entire garment contracted in all areas by a significant amount. However, it is still oversized but a lot less so than it was before washing. It is now an appropriate size as outwear when layering. I typically wear a size 4-6, and wear an 8 for items I want to be oversized. I bought a medium. It will work out for me if it doesn’t continue to shrink with each washing. This 100% cotton flannel fabric is soft and plush, yet thick like boiled wool and has weight to it. It drapes well and will work great as an outer layer for layering. The dark gray color goes with everything. It can be dressed up or dressed down, used for chores, worn for comfort and warmth, or even a casual night out.
