I'm really happy with the fit of these pants--form-fitting but not right, with just enough flare at the bottom to create a nice shape. These pants are a little smaller than the ankle version. I got both in size Medium and the ankle pants fit slightly looser. I'm 5'3", 27" waist and the medium was a perfect fit on my legs, the waist was a little big but not an issue and I wouldn't want to size down. Can't speak to their quality when it comes to climbing or hiking in bad weather, etc. but I'm happy with these upon first try.
Absolutely love these! I wasn't sure but figured I would give them a try. They are now so much a staple that I am buying in more colors. The waistband is so comfortable and sits at a great height. The side zip pocket is perfect. I kind of get what people are saying about the side pockets but to be honest I don't care-I don't want to put my phone in my side pocket anyways as it always tends to pull my pants down. They are just the right weight to be warm but not overly so and can easily pull off a day in the office, outside on the trail or my new favorite travelling. The UV protection is a total bonus. Really well thought out, flattering and comfortable pant. I couldn't be happier
I own 5 pairs of these pants and I loved them but then they didn’t offer them for several years. I was excited when they came back. I recently bought another pair and but they have changed the sizing and added an internal waist tie. They are definitely bigger than the previous version and I find myself wondering if I should order an XS. I am 5’5 128 athletic build. A small always was perfect. I like the pants a bit more fitted as I am an avid hiker and I don’t want loose clothing when I am hiking or such. XS seems like it would be a bit small. I am going to order one and see.
The Dynama pants are the most comfortable and flattering pant I have ever owned. Perfect for work, walking, hiking, travel, and dresses up for casual dinners out. I’m still wearing an olive green pair and a forest green pair from a few years ago. They have minor pilling after many washes. I like the new khaki color and black best. I wish MH still carried an olive green and a true navy, maybe a chili color, too. Pockets are deep enough for my phone. The fit is flattering. Stretch allows hiking in the mountains and is forgiving of weight loss or gain.
These are the best pants ever. I've never owned a pair of higher quality pants. The material seems like some kind of NASA tech. They are so light and so durable. I can wear them through the woods with no snags! Definitely a bit on the larger side. With the first pair I bought a few years ago, I comfortably sized down. Now at 5' 4" and 130 lbs in a size small, I have plenty of space to wear something under them for extra warmth if needed. The only complaint I have is that I usually prefer a higher rise, but they still fit nicely on my frame.
I’m a short gal with a curvier build, and finding pants that fit me just right has always been a struggle. But these? Total game-changer. The fit is spot-on — no awkward bunching, no tight spots, and no need for hemming. I feel confident and comfortable wearing them, whether I’m out exploring or just running errands. It’s rare for me to find pants that flatter my shape and feel this good. If you’ve had trouble finding the right fit, especially if you're petite and a bit heavy like me, I highly recommend giving these a try!
I have 6 pairs of the previous version of these pants and wear them constantly…daily, travel, hiking..really anywhere. But the “new” model is totally different than the last versions. And not for the better. The fabric is thicker and not as stretchy, the waist is higher, and the thighs larger than before. It makes the pull-on style almost impossible to pull up since the waist doesn’t stretch as much. And, if I size up for the waist, the thighs will look like clown pants and due to the double stitching construction will be impossible to alter. So the new fabric changes everything, the size is both TOO SMALL and TOO BIG!! The new “dark blue” color is nice but these pants DO NOT FIT the same! SO disappointed!!! PLEASE make these pants from the prior material.
I am giving this 1 star because Mountain Hard wear has discontinued tall sizes and I would like the company to take note. The low rating is not for quality. I absolutely love these pants and wish I could buy more. If you are an average height then these pants are amazing. They dry quick, are lightweight and are also durable . I have hiked hundreds of miles in them. What a giant loss for us tall ladies!! Please, please bring them back!
Currently using these on the AT. They are lightweight, dry fast, sit comfortably under my hip belt, and have a nice stretch. The cinch at the bottom is nice for hiking them up during hot days. My only complaints are the pockets could be a little bigger/deeper, and there should be more colors. I am 5'4", 150#, and have square hips and a flatter butt, usually wear between a size 6 and 8 in pants. Size small fits perfectly in these.
The front pockets stuck out in a weird way, I wish they laid flatter
