I typically LOVE oversized jackets, however this one was too oversized for my liking. I don’t think that’s ever happened before. I typically wear a size medium in jackets (5’6” and 140lbs) so I went with the small. Even the small was way too big and sloppy looking. I’m going to return for an XS because I do love the color/look, but I’m far from a true XS.
Perfect little jacket for fall! I ordered the green with mustard yellow contrast. It has neat side zippers on each side that shows the extra pop of color! Nice zippered pockets as well as a front zippered pocket. I ordered a small so that I could wear sweaters and sweatshirts underneath. I am normally a size small and it’s a little oversized but I love it! It’ll be perfect as a’winter’ jacket for FL!
I love this coat, the length is nice and it’s a great outer layer.
Great coat, absolutely love it. Perfect for wearing over sweatshirts and sweaters, especially if bulky. This is a boxy oversized jacket, completely as pictured. If you are looking for something fitted, this is not it. Of note I am 6’ tall and 175lbs, would normally wear a Large and got this in a Large. I could probably size down and it would still have room because that’s the style but the large is fine. I have long arms and the sleeves are not too short on me, but are loose so if you don’t want the gap wear something with cuffs underneath. I have been out walking my dogs with this on top of a sweatshirt in 35 F and it is plenty warm.
This jacket is everything I hoped it would be. Oversized (it is also sized quite large; I could have gone down a size but don’t mind), comfy, just the right weight to layer over a vest or sweats. I live and work on a farm in California and can attest it is appropriate for this lifestyle though I wouldn’t want to put it through rough work and wear since it’s so lovely. I imagine I’ll wear it three out of four seasons though the colors are definitely autumnal. I wish it were cotton instead of synthetic which is why I’m deducting one star. Everything else is awesome. No inside pockets but I’ll just wear a vest under it or something.
I ordered both Encinitas Jacket and Field Coat in Almond. Loved both but had to choose just one. Both are really large –my winter coats are medium (I’m 5’4” 125lbs athletic build) but the small in the jacket and XS in the field coats worked best for me. Both are well made and warm. the Field Coat has a silky lining and the Jacket is a sherpa fleese which is really cosy. I went with the Field Coat because I wanted a different style than my usual ski puffer jackets. Also the Jacket was a bit plain while the Field Coat has some color accents. The Encinitas jacket was just a tad short on me when I lifted my arms. If you’re willing to experiment with sizing I highly recommend both jackets!
I like this jacket but gave it 4-stars because there are a few things I wish I could add/change. To get five, I would like the outer pockets placed up and slightly forward. I am 5’8” and have found myself fumbling around to find the openings (jacket unzipped). They just seem a little low. I would also love the addition of an interior pocket and a natural fabric at the collar. The ribbed fabric is similar to thick yoga pants. A corduroy or something soft (not microfleece) would be very nice. Other than that, it suits basic needs and was a worthwhile purchase. Overall, happy and would recommend.
Perfect, exactly as I wanted to have. The only star down is for the size fitting. I ordered XS and it could be even smaller for me and I am not super skinny. On the other hand, I can gain some weight and the coat will stay perfect as it is. It is really versatile for all the seasons, love the neck area.
This is one of my favorite coats I’ve ever purchased! I just got it in a second color. Yes it’s oversized but if you wear sweatshirts and sweaters as most of us do in the winter, the coat FITS OVER THEM! 🙌 I’m 5’8” and 150 lbs and bought it in my regular size medium and I love it.
I do like this Encinitas Field Coat. It’s lightweight and just the right thickness. I’m 5’1” and 140 lbs. I bought a small because most of the reviews say that it runs big and boxy. I think that’s the style and it does fit me just right. Not to big not to small. I bought it to wear under a thin raincoat and knowing that I can take the raincoat off and still have a somewhat warm coat on. I really like the high collar. What I don’t really like about the coat is that the arm sleeves comes in a little short. I feel like it should be another 2 inches longer because it rides up.
