✅Good quality nylon material in legs ✅Nice looking integrated belt ✅Boot fit wide legs feel comfortable for climbing or hiking and will accommodate hiking shoes Waist runs small. I ordered the Large which should accommodate 36-37. I am a 34 in shorts and usually a 36 in pants. Waist was very small.
I really like the Stretch Zion straight pant (not Zion II) and thought this would be similar with a cleaner look since there is no side cargo pocket. I wear a 32"x32" Zion straight and ordered a Medx32" Top-out. Since it's a standard fit and not slim, it's noticeably looser and baggier. Because of the looser fit, these pants wear longer than the stretch Zion and I should have ordered a shorter inseam to compensate. The material feels thinner than the standard Zion pant. Unfortunately, the poor fit doesn't work for me. I hope Prana comes out with more versions of the Zion pant with the same fit as the Zion straight pant.
These might be my favorite pants since my legendary first generation Prana Zion pants, which survived six years of climbing and backpacking when I shredded every other brand inside of six months. These are great: super comfortable, seem durable so far (though pill more easily than the oldschool ones), and fit well (though slightly on the snug side, so plan for that if you are between). The only complaint I have is that the fly doesn't go very low. If I see a tree that needs watering in the wilderness, I have to undo the button to comfortably liquidate the issue.
I was looking for a pair of simple, comfortable, non-cargo pants that I could wear traveling, on the weekends, or at work. The fabric is stretchy, but drapes nicely, and has a substantial, matte appearance. I wear pants and jeans with size 42 waist, and the XXL with 34” inseam fits me well. I’m a big guy — 6’ 5”, 300+ pounds, and these look flattering on me. The Golden Leaf color is what caught my eye — it’s surprisingly versatile and looks great with charcoal, light heather gray, navy, dark purple, etc.
Comfortable pants, but sizing and pockets aren't perfect. I have no idea why it's S/M/L sizes and not just waist size, but the inseam didn't even fit right. They say downsize them if you'll be mainly climbing in them, but I bought them in my normal size and they're too large, the hem is constantly under my heel. Also a "small" waistline just barely fits my size 30 waist. The pockets are also just a little too high and makes it awkward to get things in and out if you're wearing any type of jacket.
I love the stretchy and comfortable fabric, comfortable waistband, built in belt and the discreet side pockets. These are also more breathable than the original Zions. My one complaint is that despite these being referred to as "straight leg", they are quite baggy. The bagginess is great for athletic endeavors, but is not the most attractive fit for a casual setting. If these had a slim version that fit like the Stretch Zion Slims these would be absolutely perfect.
After about 5 years of wearing my old Zion pants they are finally wearing out and I replaced a pair with these. I'm not impressed, the material is thinner and cheaper, the fit is not as good and I can already see piling and wear on the material after only a month of use. I think there are more durable and better pants then these on the market, I won't purchase again.
Best Prana pant period. Prana pants have been my fav for years, but they never hit *quite* the right mix of features. The main Zion look too technical. Brion not enough features, too baggy. Zion has inbuilt belt, but sitting down on a plane can put pressure on abdomen. This fixes all of those, hooray for stretch waistband!
Love the yellow color! Pants have some stretch, so movement is comfortable. These are men’s pants, and I am a tall woman needing a long inseam. So, the rise of the pants to my waist doesn’t fit quite right. I wish more companies made longer inseams for women. Until then, I will take what I can get! :)
Comfortable and great stretch for climbing. I wasn't sure about the bunch waist at first. After climbing in them several times, I regretted buying only 2 pair and came back for more. I prefer the fit over the original stretch zions. Hoping they hold up as long as my old Zions.
