There is a mysterious medical condition the average person doesn't know about. It is named Reynaud's Syndrome where the outer extremities nerves relay confusion to the brain and it in turn decreases blood flow causing the extremities to be either or both cold and blueish in color. It is not extremely debilitating but annoying and can cause you to avoid cold and the outdoors. These Fairbanks Fingerless Gloves fit the bill and can afford me to do many these I previously would avoid. Been using these for full on 10 years and am both grateful for them and would highly recommend.

Amazing winter gloves for whatever activities you pursue. These gloves keep your hands warm without compromising your dexterity. Outstanding for hiking, hunting, fishing, or holding an ice cold beer. Definitely money well spent.

They are exactly what I pictured. I have not had the chance to wear them much due to the lack of a winter in my area this year, but from the few times I was able to use them, I loved them. I ordered the smaller size because I was right in the middle of the two sizes and wanted the gloves to be snug on my fingers. When I put them on I can feel the warmth almost immediately. My finger tips would get very cold if it was frigid outside, but that is to be expected. I imagine these would make great liners, but I just love the dexterity they allow and the fingertip touch screen gloves on the market just don't allow for the same control.

I use these gloves ice fishing all winter. I specifically like them for Lake Nipissing, in Ontario. It gets super cold (-30C) there and the wool keeps my hands warm if I'm unhooking a walleye, or setting up my hub. The open fingers still let's me put minnows on hooks, take walleye off hooks or crack my next beer. I love them! I think their only downside is they shrink VERY easily. As soon as they shrink, they do not fit my hands at all. So hand wash the minnow juice and walleye slim off them. But hands down best gloves. They're also great for adding a heat pad inside if you're hole hopping and chasing down walleye.

S/M is a great forming my short fingers. The edges of the finger openings are knitted heavily and should hold up well. They are a great in-between weight, a little heavier than a liner without being bulky. Great for situations where you need dexterity but want to keep yourself warm. I love how high up they go on the cuff. Very pleased with Thai purchase. Wish they came in fun colors!

To me, fingerless gloves are a necessary compromise to maintain dexterity while preserving some body heat. These gloves have worn through in rapid fashion. The only manual activity of which I can think that these gloves would survive is smoking and I don't think that's the image Outdoor Research portrays.

After many seasons of trying to dial my glove game in, I finally found the best (for me): fingerless gloves with shell. These gloves are super soft and kept my hands nice and toasty, while allowing dexterity. I find when I'm wearing full fingered gloves or mitts, I always end up removing them to bare hand so I can properly use my hands. These are a great alternative to those who don't like their fingers covered up, but don't want to completely bare hand it. I've had many fellow touring friends convert to the fingerless setup and have never looked back.

While these gloves are lacking some digits, (half of 10, to be exact), they make up for it in their absolute warmth and comfort. The wool used for these gloves is both sleek and comfy -- no itchy ragwool here! I love using fingerless gloves for most of the moderate-temperature NC hunting season, and have had bulky, itchy, loose fingerless gloves in the past. Not so with these babies! One downside though, they are not fireproof -- they do still singe if you get them too close to the fire while taking your coffee off the boil. :)

The temperature has been fluctuating wildly in Toronto this winter and I needed something warm to keep in my coat pockets that weren't too bulky and still allowed me to easily grab treats from my sling pouch. This was a surprisingly tall order and took a lot of online research. I eventually found the Fairbanks gloves from OR and took the plunge. A decision that turned out to be an easy recommendation if you're looking for something that provides warmth, is packable, and won't hamper your digital dexterity!

Here in the mid South fingerless gloves are perfect for the roughly five months of cool to cold weather each year and the Fairbanks gloves fits that bill beautifully at a fair price. They're a bit more finely knit than most, wonderfully soft and should last 2-3 years considering how often I wear gloves and how much I abuse them. I wear them every time I'm outdoors and even while driving. They're practical, don't put on airs and do the job with no muss or fuss. What more could you ask for?
