From the National Park Service:
- A digital version of the Non-Resident Annual Pass, that can be used immediately upon purchase, is only available on Recreation.gov. Other pass options are also available, including a Resident Annual Pass. If you are a U.S. citizen or resident age 62 or older, have a permanent disability, are current U.S. Military member, Gold Star Family member, veteran, or are a student in the 4th grade, you may qualify for other passes. For more information, visit https://www.recreation.gov/pass.
- The pass is issued to one person (the pass holder) who must be present, with valid photo identification, each time the pass is used.
- The Non-Resident Annual Pass covers entrance or standard amenity (day-use) fees at sites managed by the U.S. Forest Service, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, National Park Service, U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, Bureau of Land Management, and Bureau of Reclamation.
- Fees and pass acceptance vary widely across the thousands of Federal Recreation sites. Please contact specific sites directly for information on what is or is not covered.
- Valid for 12 months from month of purchase. Pass expiration date will not be extended for any reason.
- Passes are NON-REFUNDABLE, NON-TRANSFERABLE, and CANNOT BE REPLACED IF LOST OR STOLEN.
- At sites that charge per vehicle, a pass covers the pass holder and accompanying passengers in a single, private, non-commercial vehicle.
- At sites that charge per person, a pass covers the pass holder and three accompanying adults (16 or over). Children 15 and under are free.
- If visiting a national park that charges a $100 nonresident fee, the Non-Resident Annual Pass will also cover the nonresident fee for the pass holder and passengers in a private vehicle or on two motorcycles, or the pass holder and three additional adults when charged per person.
- Please note that the Non-Resident Annual Pass will not be available for immediate download or printing. A physical pass will be shipped to you. Representations of the pass (e.g. receipts, copies, photos, etc.) are NOT valid for use and will not be accepted in lieu of a physical pass. The digital version of the Non-Resident Annual Pass, that can be used immediately upon purchase, is only available on Recreation.gov.
