REI Co-op  Screeline Alpha Hoodie - Women's

I am not exaggerating when I say that this is the best thing I have ever put on my body. I usually don’t like fuzzy layers, but I loved the color of this. I am usually between an extra small and a small, and I got a small. I think this fits a little bit on the bigger side, but not so much just to be oversized. A small fits me perfectly, with room to spare, but not so much room as that it is baggy. It is unbelievably lightweight, but yet so warm. I truly cannot wait to take this backpacking. I never write reviews, but this thing is so amazing that I had to share my thoughts.

This is a great ultralight mid layer. I used it on the West Highland Way and it kept me warm while hiking without feeling like I was overheating or sweating. I also used it at camp and wore a windbreaker/shell over it to protect me from the wind. I’ll be bringing this on every trip in place of the heavier fleece I used to bring. If it’s really cold I would probably put a down jacket over it at camp followed by a shell. Like any other alpha direct fleece, it’s quite thin and could rip if it gets caught on anything. However, I accidentally snagged it on a tree branch and it was fine. It has thumb loops and the hood is elastic and really hugs the side of my face, which I like a lot. It also fits true to size.

This REI screeline alpha hoodie jacket is pretty nice! It feels so lightweight, and it honestly doesn’t feel like it’s going to be that warm at first. But once you get it on, it keeps you nice and cozy! I really like it. The purple color is super cute and a change from my typical black or grey jackets that I wear. The material is pretty soft overall, but also feels like it’s going to be pretty easy to snag; I hope that is not the case but we will see how it wears in the future! This is a great fall jacket for when you don’t need a super heavy coat yet but definitely need something on the arms to keep you warm. The elongated neck hoodie part is pretty cool, it will help keep your neck warm as well when the hood is up. Overall, I think this jacket is very nice, but also a tad on the pricey side. The brand is very reputable though! I would recommend. I received this free for review, all thoughts are my own.

The REI Co-op Women’s Screeline Alpha Hoodie is lightweight, easy to stuff into your pack and warm. It also collects light water beads and doesn’t absorb them. This is a fantastic hiking sweater!

Material in thin but comfy. Not scratchy which is nice when part of it covers your face. Excellent under layer for winter. No pockets but as an under layer this isn’t a big deal.

This is very comfy. Super light weight. My daughter loved the color. My only downside is that it’s 100 percent polyester which I’m not huge on but other than that great hoodie.

Absolutely love this polartec sweater! I’m committed to only carryon luggage so this is a great addition for an upcoming 2 week trip - it is super light weight, packs small but is amazingly warm to use alone or as a base layer. Please give us some more colors to choose from!!

Took this on an August backpacking trip in the Eastern Sierras. It was super lightweight and felt nice to wind down in every evening at camp. I used it expressly as a lounge piece and not for hiking in. The hood fit me perfectly and I received compliments on the gorgeous color. I do baby it though since it can snag.

These are MASSIVE. I got a medium and it fits like an extra large. I like the hoodie but will be returning for a smaller size.

I know that Alpha fleece has become trendy, and I am usually circumspect about trendy things, but I am sold on this hoodie. It is not as warm as the fleece I used to take backpacking, but it adds notable warmth to my other layers, and is far lighter and less bulky in my pack. I just had it out in chilly fall conditions and I was plenty warm. The hood looks kind of odd but I found this design better at keeping out drafts than traditional hoods, and it keeps your head warm without squishing your ears like most hats. It's super comfortable as a sleeping layer too. It's also light enough to be a comfortable layer starting a hike on chilly mornings. However, I don't recommend wearing this if you're bushwhacking or on a narrow trail with overhanging veg since it snags easily. Also, if you're leaning toward getting one, be aware that it runs big.
