REI Co-op  Big Haul Expandable Packing Cube - Single

This is a pretty nifty packing cube. An extra zipper wraps around the packing cube a couple times to compact the cube down by a couple inches is a cool feature to squeeze a little more into a tight space or so reduce the size as you go through whatever was packed in it. The sturdy handles pretty much make this a standalone bag in its own right by adding some portability, but also help pull it out of a tightly packed backpack. The robust zippers and ripstop fabric make this a pretty bulletproof and sturdy packing cube. One issue is the compacting zipper hangs up in the corners a bit, but that could get better with time. And one suggestion to make the bag a little more useful could be an internal mesh pocket in the "lid" of the bag. Overall, the compression features to reduce the volume significantly, so will definitely make it into the travel gear rotation for when space is at a premium.

This single packing cube has many uses, from storing your toiletries, carrying your shoes, a place to store dirty laundry while traveling, or a sizable bag to pack down bulkier items in your suitcase. The fact that it has handles makes it even more flexible for traveling. The bigger size is great for ski gear, jackets, coats, etc and really doesn’t limit what you can store in it. Plus the handles are an added feature for even more use. The only downside is the lack of internal pockets. It would be nice to have one internal zipper to keep loose items more secure, especially if you’re going on a long vacation and want to use this as a larger toiletries back like I did. Still, a great product with multiple uses!

More than a packing cube - you can use it as a standalone bag. Large enough to hold a change of clothes if you’re going to the gym, or a few pairs of shoes. See photo with 32oz water bottles. With the expansion zipper opened, it’s practically cavernous for a packing cube. Handles add to the flexibility for use as a standalone. My spouse and I love it for keeping our clothes separated during trips where we share a bag. We also like it for holding dirty laundry or clothes/shoes that we might want to keep separate from other items. On solo trips, it’s nice to keep items organized. Downside is the panels are solid and not mesh, so you have to open it up to se what you have inside, and there is reduced airflow. Color is great so you can easily find the bag when mixed with other loose clothes. Overall a great help for organizing your luggage.

I’m a bit torn with this packing cube. I personally love packing cubes, I have probably a dozen and use them very often for domestic and international travel. They are typically fairly lightweight and I quite like the versions with an expansion/compression zipper. This one does have said zipper, but it’s a bit porky for what it is. The material is fine, if a bit burly, but I don’t love the handles. It’s too simple of a bag to be used much after arriving at your destination so they seem extra, and they are not small or light. I suppose it’s mostly personal preference but I just don’t see many occasions that I’d reach for this over one of my other options. All that said it’s well made and feels quality, it may be perfect for you, so don’t hesitate to buy if it seems right.

Packing cubes make travel so much easier. Especially when using duffels because everything shifts around so much. I have a lot of packing cubes, but this one is much bigger than the others. On a recent MTB trip to Colorado, I used it for all my gear. It has a little bit of padding which is not really needed, but gives the bag a little more structure than the other cubes I use. The design with the handles lets it double as a carry tote when you get to where you're going. So it's more than just a packing cube. It's actually kind of like a little mini briefcase you can use as a packing cube. Pretty cool. As with all the other REI duffels and gear, the material is very high quality. Durability is not a concern at all. Zippers pull easily. I'll be getting another one.

I took this on a trip with my kids to a forest cabin, and used this packing cube for our last-minute additions as well as car supplies for the trip out. I love the size and cube-ness of this little pack because it made it easy to put in a lot of small things very efficiently. As any patent knows there are always a lot of last minute things to add to the bag (things that cannot be parted with until leaving!) And this was perfect for it. I havent used this for air travel yet but it will make a perfect personal item - i will be able to get a lot in without having to dig deeply for those things later. As always with REI products it is very sturdy and I feel confident that it will last me for years to come. Bonus - if you get the big haul duffle, the duffle can actually be folded to fit inside this cube for storage - which for someone with limited space is EXTREMELY valuble!

Great packing cube. It fits enough clothes for a week and you can size it down with the second zipper. Very light and fits perfectly in my carryon.. It is easy to get things in and out with the opening. Going to buy more for my longer trips
