[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been a long time Prana Zion short and pants user. The Zion line is fantastic if you are a climber, hiker or just an outside enjoyer. The Stretch Full Zip Hoodie is not an exception. I am 6'4 250 lbs and wore a size XL. This is my typical size for most things and I really enjoy the fit. Due to the materials, I feel that the fit can accommodate a good amount of sizes without compromising comfort. This would include layering underneath the hoodie if it were necessary. I really liked the elasticity of the cuffed arms and waist as it stayed in place without it being too tight. Additionally, the "stretch" part of the hoodie is great. You do get great range of motion while fully zipped up in the hoodie and I don't have fear of restricted movement. I mostly have on short hikes and long commutes where its the coldest point of the day and have been pleased with the warmth and ease I can remove or simply unzip for better air flow. I am a warm natured person and could comfortably be in environments less than or equal to 70 degrees with the hoodie on. It's late Summer where I live and after 8-9:00 am it gets a little too hot for me once I've been moving around a bit. However, being fleece I don't get concerned about sweating and soaking the material as the properties of fleece are intended to keep you warm and evaporate quickly. There are some highlights that I really enjoyed about the hoodie: -YKK zippers and the main has a good weight to it. It's not heavy, just has a quality feel to it. -Elbow panels that seem to be a bit more rugged/ wont snag as bad on rough surfaces. I can see this being a quality I would appreciate if I was climbing for example and may drag my elbow against rock that could damage that area. -A pocket that doubles as a packable pouch. You basically can turn the hoodie into a small square pillow! It is on the firm side, but it's still a nice feature. -Good looks that match my other Zion pants/ shorts. Overall, I really like this hoodie and will wear it through the Fall and Winter as my go-to. It might be a little too warm for my liking for a lot of the year, so I would like for it to be a bit lighter. Especially for it having it's own packable pocket, it could fit better into the "lightweight hiking" lane if that were the case. I don't know if I would purchase the hoodie at full MSRP if I were to get it again. I would like to see a more competitive price point in the future. It has kept me warm and cozy, but what really impressed me is that I don’t feel overheated while wearing it. The material is incredibly soft and comfortable, giving me the perfect combination of feeling protected from the elements while still being able to move comfortably. I’ve worn it for everyday activities, being outdoors, and especially while traveling. It’s easy to throw on, comfortable for long periods, and versatile enough to handle changing temperatures. I’m really looking forward to putting it through even more cold-weather use this winter. So far, though, this is hands down my go-to travel jacket. It gives me the warmth, comfort, and versatility I want without feeling overly bulky. Definitely a piece I’ll continue reaching for again and again.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Fantastic mid-layer that's functional and comfortable, and can also be used as your main insulation for cool weather since it still looks good on its own. I get hot and sweaty easily so I need something that can breath well and adapt to my activity level. So a fleece works much better than a standard hoodie. And it's hard to find a good fleece that comes with a hood. Having the forearm/elbow panel is also a big win since that area usually takes a beating when camping, backpacking, climbing and doing general work around the homestead. In terms of fit, I'm 5'11", 180lbs and the medium fit me well. It was a little loose in the rear shoulder (think rear delt area) even though I have slightly broader than average shoulders. It does not fit well under a climbing helmet (too thick and gets in the way of your chin strap) but the hood is spacious enough to fit over a helmet without being too tight. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m 6’0”, 153 lbs, and I went with a size Large. The fit has been really good for me. It’s slightly oversized without looking baggy, which gives me plenty of freedom of movement and enough room to comfortably layer underneath. I’ve been using this fleece over the past few weeks for camping and hiking, and it has quickly become one of my favorite pieces to throw on when temperatures start to drop. It’s warm without feeling overly bulky, making it a great mid-layer or an easy jacket to grab when I need some extra warmth. The comfort and mobility are two of my favorite things about it. I never feel restricted when hiking or moving around, and it has been comfortable every time I’ve worn it. I’ve also taken it through some light bushwhacking, and the fabric has held up really well. It feels durable, and the zippers and pockets have also held up great so far. The one thing I would change is adding a cinch on the hood. The hood can sometimes flop forward onto my face, so having a way to tighten and adjust it would make it more functional. I could also see a bottom hem cinch being a nice addition for keeping warmth in. Other than those small improvements, there isn’t much I would change. Overall, this is a very comfortable, warm, mobile, and durable fleece that has been great for hiking, camping, and everyday outdoor use. The fit feels true to size and is flattering to my build without being restrictive. There’s plenty of freedom of movement without it feeling overly loose or bulky. I’ve worn this fleece backpacking, hiking, camping, on road trips, around town and at home, including cool, dry conditions in the 50s. It’s extremely comfortable, soft and warm, and I’ve found myself reaching for it pretty regularly. One of my favorite features is the oversized hood. It provides a lot of warmth without restricting head movement or interfering with visibility. The zippered hand pockets are lined with the same soft fleece and feel great for warming up cold hands. I also really appreciate the reinforced fabric along the forearms and around the elbows. Those are exactly the areas where I’ve historically worn through fleece, and so far I haven’t noticed any abrasion, snagging or other wear. For the amount of warmth it provides, the weight is very reasonable, although it doesn’t pack particularly small. Breathability is the one area I think could be improved. During higher-output activities like backpacking, I found myself wanting a way to vent some heat. I wouldn’t want to sacrifice the really comfortable soft pocket lining, but some discreet ventilation elsewhere could make it useful across an even wider range of conditions. I've used this hoodie in a range of settings: a rainy outdoor wedding in Maui, a hike to the summit of Haleakala (hot at sea level, cool and windy at the summit), campfires, car camping and easy overnights, and plenty of everyday wear back home in the Park City, Utah area, where temperatures swing quickly between sun and shade at elevation. Comfort and fit: True to size with room to layer underneath if needed. It's held up well across a full day of wear without losing shape or feeling restrictive during movement — good freedom of motion for hiking and general activity. Breathability and performance: This is where it stands out. It stays warm without ever feeling hot, so it worked just as well on a warm Maui afternoon as it did in cooler mountain air. The fabric feels durable and well-made; after regular wear and washing, I haven't seen any pilling, stretching, or wear issues. Weather/conditions tested: Humid, rainy tropical weather; dry, breezy high-elevation conditions at nearly 10,000 feet on Haleakala; and cool mountain evenings around a campfire — a solid range for judging temperature regulation. What I liked most: The hood is a standout feature, not an afterthought — genuinely useful in wind and light rain. The front pocket is a small detail that makes a big functional difference. It's versatile enough to go from a casual outdoor wedding to a hiking trail without looking out of place. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This fleece surprised me. After a few wears, I can't wait for the weather to cool off more so I can wear this more often. This well be perfect for anything from lounging around the campsite, to cooler hikes, or even travel since it's not too bulky. I am 6'3" and 180lbs and I got a size Large. The body of this is slightly looser than I would like, but it is still not too baggy on me. The most important thing is that the sleeves are actually long enough for me, which is always a struggle. I really like the feel of this material. This fleece is seriously comfy! It's soft against your skin, but smooth enough that it won't grab onto an outer layer if temps drop. I have not tested it in colder wind yet, but that weather is coming soon. The durable material on the elbows/forearm is great for extra durability, especially around camp, and the wind flap inside the zipper is a nice touch! I love pockets, and this has two large zip hand pockets, a zip chest pocket and internal drop pockets, yay! The hood also has a nice fit to it. This will be the perfect piece for those cool mornings/evenings where you want a cozy fleece that you can move well in. Oh, and I LOVE the color. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Before diving into my review, I want to provide a bit of context. I am someone who loves to spend time outdoors whenever I can. On a daily basis, I am taking walks multiple times a day with my dog through our neighborhood and local parks. On weekends and in the evenings, I love to go for trail runs, cycle (road and mountain bike), SUP, hike, camp, and, most of all, boulder and sport climb. I have an athletic/slim build and am 5' 9" and around 160lb. I typically wear a size medium in tops. When I was given the chance to try out this hoodie, I was quite excited as I've long been a fan and user of Prana products (especially the versatile stretch Zion pants). Additionally, I was in the market for a hoodie that was durable, comfortable, breathable, and form fitting. I wanted something that could be used in a variety of occasions - whether it be as a standalone hoodie for brisk mornings at the crag or comfortably layered underneath of a hardshell. I am happy to say that this hoodie ended up checking all of those boxes and more. I have had the chance to use this the Prana Mens Stretch Zion Fleece Hoodie for three weeks now and have taken it with me while hiking, camping and climbing at the New River Gorge, and also while walking and cycling. What has surprised me perhaps most of all with this hoodie is just how often I've found myself grabbing it instead of other hoodies or fleeces I own. This hoodie is on the warmer side, but without excessive bulk or weight. Having long hair, I enjoy the full zip access to put on and take off. The size medium is a perfect fit and I found that the sleeves are the perfect length and don't ride up on my arms, despite having a +3 ape index. The hoodie is breathable and comfortable to wear even when exerting yourself (e.g., hiking, biking). The fit is on the athletic side, which I am very much a fan of. Additionally, I found that the length was in the “Goldilocks zone” where it was not too short that it would ride up above my pants, but it was also not too long where you might risk having it get wet when layered underneath a hardshell during a rain storm. The material is extremely pleasant both in look and feel and the addition of the zip pockets on the front was a very nice touch. With some hoodies that have zip pockets, I've found that the zipper can feel overly sharp or coarse when using the pocket to warm your hands. I did not find that to be the case with this hoodie. The cut of the hoodie itself is also quite athletic to match the rest of the hoodie. I imagine that you could wear the hoodie up and underneath a helmet, so long as the helmet wasn't on the right side to begin with. Similar to the hood, the cuffs on the sleeves help to keep the jacket in place and close to the body - keeping you nice and warm. Given that no product is perfect, it's worth noting one specific aspect of this hoodie that was less than ideal. Specifically, the material type and fabric pattern used in this hoodie can create something of a dog hair magnet. I've certainly had much worse when it comes to clothing that attracts dog hair, but the black colorway in particular can make the dog hair really stand out. For me though, having to occasionally use a lint roller to clean off the jacket is a minor inconvenience of an otherwise stellar product. If nothing else, that aspect of the hoodie serves as a reminder to make sure I am washing my hoodie on a regular basis, which certainly isn't a bad thing. In summary, this hoodie has quickly become a staple within my closet. It has proven to excel in all of the environments in which I've taken it and hasn't shown any real signs of wear or tear whatsoever. On brisk mornings when camping, it's been such a nice companion while exiting the tent and preparing breakfast and coffee. It's similarly been a perfect layer to wear while belaying at more shaded climbing areas that can be significantly cooler than sunny adjacent areas. As the temps continue to drop and we enter the late fall and winter months, I am excited to see how long I can continue to wear just this hoodie before needing to break out the winter jacket.
