- Machine wash cold in front-loading washer on gentle cycle; use down wash; rinse thoroughly at least twice; do not wring; remove promptly; do not use bleach or fabric softener

This REI down jacket is a basic but good winter jacket that is perfect for cold winter days.

This REI 650 down jacket is a legit winter jacket. It’s a big puffy that is super warm. It does have a few extras, but mostly it is a basic down puffy coat made for cold winter days. There are two zip pockets on the outside, two drop in pockets on the inside, and cords to tighten the coat around the waist so wind doesn’t come up under it. Other than that it’s a basic coat. The large fits me as a large should. It’s slightly roomy, which is fine for me because I can put a sweater or base layer under it. The hood is a little big, but it is warm and it will work over a stocking cap or beanie. The sleeves are just the right length for my 6’, 190lb body. The coat doesn’t pack down for backpacking, but it is a great everyday coat for wearing on those cold winter days.
