Here's why: 1. True fit and stretch allow for easy movement during activities. 2. StretchDown comfortably hugs the torso so there are no drafts. 3. Pockets allow easy access. Chest pocket just the right size so your phone won't get lost and won't fall out if unzipped. 4. Interior drop pockets(2) are pure genius. Huge: 12'' deep, 8'' wide. Should be government mandated! Essential for the traveler as they securely hold valuables out of sight, out of reach. No pickpocketing. 5. The hood is just right, warm but not too big/bulky. Not in the way when you're not using. 6. DANG! IT JUST FEELS SO DAM GOOD TO WEAR! Autumn through Spring it's an A+++++

Really comfortable. Nice athletic fit. I'm 6 ft 1.5, 178 lbs and got a size large, and the sleeves and torso are plenty long. Only problem with the jacket is that it's a lot less warm than I initially imagined. My friend has a previous model of a MTN Hrdwear stretch down jacket and it feels nice and puffy. This newer model is lacking a lot of down fill and doesn't have much of that "puffy" feeling when you press into the jacket. The being said, it's really lightweight and still reasonably warm given how light it is. I've needed 2 long-sleeve (1 cotton 1 marino wool) under-layers to feel comfortable in windy, sub 50 degree F weather. But maybe I'm just a wimp.

I have not had the opportunity to really put this thing 'through the test', but so far, I am really impressed and happy with this jacket. As with most down 'puffers' it is incredibly light weight and packable. The fit is great: I am 6'1 and 175lb, athletic build, and the Large is a perfect fit. Enough space underneath for some layering if needed, but not overly flowing or bulky. Long enough to cover my arms and waist. I'm excited for the stretch fabric. Feels as if it will have more forgiveness and hold up better over time, vs the standard light weight down jacket outer fabrics. If you're on the fence, make the leap!

It's summer in SoCal so I am not going to have an opportunity to really try out this jacket for a while, but so far I think it's great!! I'm pleased with my purchase and I would buy it again or recommend it to others. I'm 5'10 and usually fall between an XL and XXL because of my shoulder width and arm length in most long-sleeved garments, but I have owned and tried on Mountain Hardwear jackets before and I know that XXL is a little too big and that I should go with an XL. So, maybe size down from your usual size if you are going to buy this jacket if you don't have experience with the fit of this brand already.

I don’t know where to begin! This jacket is just plain awesome! Let me begin with the 800 fill this jacket is very warm. Since I’ve received the jacket we’ve had several days in the single digits here in Michigan and this jacket helps retain heat very well! Everything is very nice and toasty in this jacket. The fit of the jacket is amazing as well. I am 5’7”, 180 pounds I got a large size and it fit like a T! Movement is very easy in this jacket the stretch really helps keep the jacket snug on your body. The shell is very durable I spilled coffee on it and it beat it up and rolled right off! So far I’m very happy with this jacket whoever gets this jacket will not be disappointed!

I work as a rock climbing guide on the Front Range and I need warm layers when I'm being active at high elevations. This thing is definitely warm. The 700-fill down does its job to insulate well and still be super, super light. I also really like that I can use this as a semi-active layer because it really does move and fit with my body. I'm used to down jackets being a stopped-and-snacking layer, so this is a welcome change. I think this piece is perfect for someone who plans to spend time up high (10,000+) and wants to move/skin/be active in this layer. It also looks great, so it can function as an around-town jacket, too! I'm 5'10" and 170 - the medium fit me perfectly.

I am a photogrspher and have never found gloves that keep my hands warm and let me work the camera so I am always asking my gloves off, taking the picture and then trying to get my hands warm again. The fromnt pocket on this jacket made it easy to keep my hands warm snd then quickly warmed them up again after taking the picture

Im 6’2” 170lbs and bought a medium. Fits perfectly. Warmth is great and versatile in low to super cold temps. The style is awesome. Design is simple and works. However, the main zipper design seems weaker than the jacket requires and leads to a weird mid section bend in the jacket. Other than that a great jacket!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Unboxing this jacket was a joy. It was immediately obvious to me that it was going to be a winner. It's unlike every other jacket I own. The construction quality is superb and I consider it to be an all purpose beast. I live/work in NYC and needed something for commuting and for camping, hiking and fishing. The shell on this jacket is tough. It's surprisingly warm and wind resistant. And it's super lite and flexible. The waist/cuff elastic keeps the wind off my bones and the hood fits nicely. The cut is slim/athletic. I'm 5'9" 160lbs with an athletic build, and medium fits me perfectly with one or two layers underneath. For me the icing on the cake is that this jacket uses fluorocarbon free down treatment.

I’ve had this jacket for about a year - bought it because my wife got one and I was jealous… I love everything about it. Fit is slim, not too baggy so keeps heat in (I’m 5’11, 180, size M). Pockets have the puffy material on the outside of your hands so it brings body warmth to those pockets which is awesome. Stretch is great. I have no problems with it after a year of use hiking, skiing, camping, etc. I’ve contemplated buying another in case they stop making it I saw some comments about the filler balling up after washing. I had the same freak out moment when I first washed it but all you do it tumble try with a couple of tennis balls and it fluffs right back up. Love this jacket! Highly recommend!
