Pleasantly surprised
Purchased these at the REI in Pigeon Forge, TN. Was on vacation and packed too many shorts and not enough pants. Found these at the store and fell in love with them. Love that they are merino wool on the inside and smooth on the outside. Everything about these pants are plush (the lining is plush wool fleece and the pocket interiors are as well.) The pants feel substantial, not like thin gym leggings. Wore these twice in heated environments are was so comfortable. In winter they will be amazing as well. The pockets are deep and my cell phone is secure. Drops all the way down. The other pocket could absolutely hold a small wallet securely which is all you would need for the gym. The pants have a 3rd back pocket which is secured with a zipper but it is very shallow. You could probably put your car key fob or house key. It is small though. As expensive as these were (paid full retail and I was desperate for pants on vacation) I have no regrets and would buy them again. Good investment. Note: I am petite and these are regular length. This was not problematic for me.
