Unfortunate sizing
Quality seems improved and I suspect this fabric will be less prone to pilling and the awkward rolling of the bottom hem, but unfortunately the sizing isn’t true Arc’teryx sizing. Normally everything XL fits perfectly, but the XL was too big. I tried sizing down to a large, but then it was too short on me. Ended up returning, but I’ll be keeping an eye out for size adjustments in the future.
The Everyday and Everywhere Fleece
Long-time fan of the Covert, but I was finally able to get the 1/2 Zip instead of the cardigan, and this thing is warm, versatile, and perfect for a wide range of activities. Chilly morning walk? Check. Overcast, cool day? Check. Need a light insulator under a shell? Check. This fleece has become a staple in the car over the past couple of weeks as fall has started to hit. When the weather can range from single digits in the morning to the mid-20s during the day, then back into the teens by evening, it’s an easy layer to have on hand. Zippered hand pockets provide some welcome warmth when you need it, along with useful extra storage. It’s light enough to keep in a backpack, durable enough to have lying around for some post-run warmth, and clean-looking enough to show up to a corporate meeting without looking like you just came off the trail. Overall: It’s just a great fleece for everyday wear, especially when the weather is going hard with its fall personality.
No Adjustable Hem
Specification says ‘ Adjustable hem draw cord seals out drafts’. Mine does not have this. Unless it’s really well hidden? Just has a gentle elastic. Can’t comment on most stuff as not worn it out yet. Fit is standard for Arcteryx. I only need a medium, rather than large as with a lot of brands.
Warm
Very warm and heavy fleece, perfect for a winters day. Good fit for the size, I have always been medium and this fleece fitted perfectly. Good size zippered pockets. Only had it a few weeks so cannot comment on durability, but my Ark fleeces last years!
A lightweight, warm and breathable top
Love this top it’s very warm but breaths very well, it’s not heavy so easy to map e and be active. I found the fit a little large than average but I like that personally. Good quality construction I would recommend.
