Delamination after use

While the design is great and the fit and looks is great, this jacket delaminates and pills very quickly. What is worse is that Arcteryx will not uphold the warranty on their end and will say it is wear and tear. I read reviews similar to this and thought people were over reacting until it happened to me. Please be warned that for an expensive jacket such as this, it will pill and delaminate on you. The lifetime warranty will not be upheld for this type of delamination.

Hello Juliba, thank you for taking the time to share your experience with the Atom Jacket. We’re glad to hear you’ve enjoyed the design and fit, and we’re sorry to learn about the pilling and delamination you’ve encountered — we understand how disappointing that can feel. The Atom uses a lightweight, high‑loft synthetic insulation paired with soft‑hand face fabrics designed for breathability and mobility, which can be more prone to surface pilling over time, especially with regular wear or abrasion. Because pilling is considered a normal result of wear and tear rather than a manufacturing defect, it isn’t covered under our Limited Warranty. Your feedback on how the fabric has performed for you is important, and we’ll be sharing it with our product team as we continue to refine our materials.

Great jacket!

I bought the atom jacket in 2018 and still use it. I took it on multiple hikes in Norway and Madeira, it kept me warm on boat rides in Turkey and on airplanes. I also wore it when I went running outdoors here in Canada. I'm going to continue using this jacket, and will be taking it on my upcoming hiking trip to the Lofoten islands. It packs down small, is versatile, and keeps me warm. I would highly recommend this jacket!

Lightweight, warm layer

This is an essential layer on all my ski adventures. It packs nicely, and is lightweight considering the warmth it provides. For being such a thin layer, the insulation works well and proves to be important for anything from long spring touring days or super deep resort days. I like that it comes hoodless, so it does not get crammed and jumbled with my shell hood.

Great purchase!

Love my new atom jacket for its versatility. It will be the perfect travel piece to either layer up or wear on its own. Fit is great too, not too long, not too cropped, sits nicely at hip level.

Does anything jacket

For a light outer layer and warm mid layer ad it fits perfectly to size. Not waterproof but breathable and why it works well for both a mid layer and light jacket.

Great mid layer

Perfect mid layer but I had to exchange for a size Smaller. For both myself and my daughter. Great arm length and body length for taller ladies
