I bought these shoes to replace some older Sidi Dracos. I’m very familiar with high-performance cycling shoes. I eagerly tried these on after I figured out the complicated buckles. Straight away, I felt the heel fit was roomier than the standard Sidi narrow fit. I tried to snug the heel fit with the knurled adjusters and was only partially successful because neither of the adjusters moved noticeably. My feet are equal in size but the left shoe wasn’t fitting as well. I took a closer look and discovered that the fixed attachment of the rear buckle on the left shoe is attached 180 degrees opposite of where it needs to be in order to properly tighten the cord. This will certainly fail prematurely and is an obvious design flaw. The right shoe is made correctly with the rear buckle in the proper orientation. For what it’s worth, the fixed forward buckle attachment on the left shoe is also attached incorrectly by 180 degrees, though this isn’t as critical as the incorrect installation of the rear buckle on the left shoe. This is a major fail/disappointment in what looked like a nice though very expensive shoe. Hopefully Sidi will sack up and rectify this problem, but it’s going to be an expensive fix having to go back and alter the production line of this shoe. Hopefully I can get reimbursed for return shipping by Sidi or REI.
