Nice waders but need Long version
These are nice packable waders, however, I wear a Medium Long, and was told that they don't make Medium Long yet but that a Medium Regular would fit fine. Unfortunately, they don't. They were uncomfortably too short. The bootie is very nice and thin and fits very comfortably with my standard wading boots. The fabric is nice as well. The fabric is great. Would like the standard belt that comes with the regular waders though. The one on this wader is lightweight and packable but doesn't hold what I normally attach to it on my regular waders belt. Unfortunately, since I can't return this (disposed of the packaging and tags before my trip), it will be staying in my closet.
New waders
They are good pack waders. I just had issue of the straps not staying at the set length
I Need a Small King Size in These
Sizing for me is tough in this line, as the small size is right almost everywhere but the booties are really small and the girth is snug. Mediums would swim on me, so I need a Small King. I know this is iteration 1 of this line, so it’s something to consider moving forward. I would add the gravel guard hook that everyone has already mentioned. The booties seams are also quite stiff, and since the bootie is small on me already, this may become a source of discomfort. Otherwise, nice portable and packable wader.
Flyweight Waders
The waders are lightweight and packable, but the gravel guards are ineffective in stronger currents or win wading through deeper water. Without a hook the gravel guards slide up the leg and your wading boots end up taking on gravel and sand. I experienced the gravel guard failure while wading the Henry’s Fork River in Eastern Idaho.
Fit isn't perfect
I am 6'4 225 lbs. , so a bit outside the norm for most people. The fit is large on the chest area and hugs my crotch more than I like. So, I don't love the fit, therefore these are not my first choice of my own waders. . . . and I have only used them a few times.
The flyweight waders are incredible
I always hated dealing with hauling around and using bulky waders. These even fit in my duffle with all of my other travel stuff. I love these. Also, the small lightweight boot is more like a sock. Great job.
Needs instruction
Waders are very nice except there’s no directions on how to roll them back up into the pocket. I could not figure it out. There are no instructions online either. So I just put them back in the bag.
Great idea
It is a great concept, unfortunately the booties were too small for my son. We ordered a Medium King and we couldn’t replace the booties for a larger size and the large waders are too big
Lite is Right
Very light weight and cut very generously. Clearly designed for backpacking or hiking into backcountry fishing. Do not expect the durability of the G3 or G4's.
Won’t stay up
I got them for a trip to Labrador. Overall I liked them. Just one complaint. They won’t stay up. Might as well just make them waist high.
