I have always liked my Keens but it seems like the quality continues to drop with every new pair I buy. Issues with seams separating, material quality going down. Change from metal to plastic lace guides, etc. I appreciate the fact these are made in the Portland area but it sure seems like the skill level of the workforce has become way too variable. This will likely be my last pair of Keens. The balance of quality for the higher price is just not there anymore.
I just wore out my keen's. 5 years of hiking in summer and winter. also used them for all around shoes a few years. my feet were always dry. the lugs were like a second pair of hands; on my feet. The toe guard protected me from many a rock. stable support through multiple falls. they finally gave up the ghost coming down flat irons one hike when the heel and side lug came unglued. but they kept shape and never gave me any trouble. Going to buy another pair :-) .
I have had these boots for a few months and I have not pushed them in terms of submersion but have used them in tall wet grass, rain/normal puddles and not so deep snow maybe a foot or two. Traction feels good to me as far as climbing a small steep hill or wet rocks, I do have to mind myself on ice but they're pretty grippy still. They're my daily hike boots on the local trail and my camping pair.
Poor fit. Too much room in the toe box. Tighten it down enough to prevent that and my foot went to sleep.
