Doesn’t block light

This tent is high quality, spacious enough for a queen mattress and a few extra feet on the side for luggage (but not a lot of extra space). Two suitcases felt too cramped with a mattress. My biggest complaint is the light pollution. I don’t know why they chose to create a white tent, but it doesn’t filter light well. The bathroom light at our campground was showing through our tent all night long, it was hard to sleep. Really wish they would’ve made this a darker color. Also, you can only stand up straight in the middle of them tent (where the mattress usually is), so you have to bend your head throughout most of the tent, that sucked. Other than that, great quality tent !

Great for Wind and Weather Resistance

I bought the previous slightly heavier version of this tent which had about 50 reviews. Those reviews all disappeared when this new slightly lighter version appeared depriving users of the value of those reviews. I bought this tent for its wind and weather resistance as so many large tents falter in this regard. Note the full coveage fly, uncommon in large tents. Note also the strong pole structure and the 7 tent fly guy out points. I do a lot of desert camping in the spring and fall where the tent is often exposed to strong winds. So far, the strongest winds were only about 20-25mph and the tent has done just fine and that's without the fly installed. You do need to buy longer, stronger tent stakes as the pegs included will just pull out in windy conditions. The back wall slopes inward constraining the interior volume but that's also one of the factors improving its wind resistance so I acccept that. It has a lot of mesh for ventilation and all that mesh can be completely closed off with zippered tent fabric which seals the interior and greatly reduces windblown dust intrusion which also occurs in the desert. That's especially bad in southern Utah where a small amount of fine powder still manages to get through the zippers. I believe this is the only large tent where the mesh can be closed off like this. The main complaint in those deleted reviews were related to the skimpy 3 storage pockets just above the floor. Not an issue for me as I go solo wth a small table inside next to my cot.

worth it

Rain, ice, snow, slight wind, low 30 high of 50. It held up very well. A lot of room for us to stand in and change on one side and our full size bed on the other side
