I own the regular gamma pants, but I prefer a more fitted look. So, I opted for the tapered version, and now these pants have become a staple in my wardrobe :) I've worn them during long multipitch climbing adventures in the alpine, backpacking, bouldering at the gym, and just hanging out at the crag. They are incredibly durable, having withstood tight chimney climbing without any abrasion. Additionally, they are lightweight and comfortable. Bonus points for being stylish and versatile enough for wearing around town. As a curvy petite gal, I chose the 0 Petite/Short size, and they fit perfectly. I love them and only wish there were a wider color selection!
This tapered fit is perfect for hiking and mountain biking :) I can rock knee pads and a shammy under them no problem. I will say that this style hits me much higher in the waist and is a bit smaller than my previous gamma pants of various variations. There's also a tiny lip of fabric over the pocket zippers - not a big fan of that BUT I believe that most people are as it protects their zips. Overall, same comfortable material, same quality product, new fit and use :).
They are great but waist is just a bit too narrow and im 47/48kg with no belly. If you want to put in some layers in winter, is really on the max and makes me sad, because theres a regulation to make them smaller but I cant use it because is already on the max. I would add those 2 cm so we could play with regulation. Ive tried first 0 size(as my 2 other models) was super oversized on me, so changed 00. Didn't want them too short so took regular and they are short on my 162cm. I took them for sport adventures and makes me crazy when i sit or I flex my knee, they pull even higher. I did a mistake and should be taken (large) but i never use large so it was confusing. I suggest Arcteryx to adapt for sport ppl needs and not city trends. Is gonna be another Gucci very soon. Is not a summer pant so you don't want have your leg out.
My favourite pant from Arc'teryx. Hands down. I'm tall (5'11") and the regular length is always too short for me. Though, with the taper, it fits more a stylish ankle crop which I can still wear if it's not rainy / no snow etc. I got one in the regular length, and one in the long length which is PERFECT for all weather conditions. I've worn them mountaineerings, hiking, scrambling in the snow, rain and sun. They're ridiculously comfortable, a slightly higher waist, move fantastically and tuck into my boot if I need them to. I love the pockets (similar to what's on the regular gamma pant) and the little waist cinch because I do find they loosen up a bit. 11/10, cannot recommend enough.
I wore these pants to hike Mount Washington, not knowing what conditions would be like... The conditions can range from warm to freezing cold at the summit with very strong wind gusts. They are perfect for a windy, cool hiking day! If you're wanting more warmth while hiking, particularly during winter months, I recommend adding a layer of merino wool under these. They fit great, plus the tapered bottom looks stylish and it adds an athletic touch. I would buy a pair of these in all different colors!
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Initially bought these pants for hiking but they are also great for climbing! I like the location of the thigh pocket; perfect for a phone. I wanted something thicker than leggings to hike in to avoid mosquitos biting through my leggings and these work well. Bottom of the legs are zippered and buttoned which made them easy to roll up when I had to cross a stream. Only downside is that they sound a bit swishy when the fabric rubs
Upon pulling these out of the package you realize why these are so expensive and why they are worth every penny. They are durable, flexible, breathable, water resistant, everything you could want in an outdoor pant. I’ve already worn them for hiking, outdoor climbing, indoor climbing, and I’m excited to wear them for my tour du Mont Blanc trip this summer. I purchased the pants for backpacking (and for that trip) and I find myself wearing them for just about everything else, too. One of my biggest pet peeves is when brands claim that pants can hold up outside and they have a hole within a few wears. I can confirm this has not happened with the gamma pants, yet, and I’m sure it won’t for a long time.
Love these pants so much! The adjustable waist is ingenious, all of the pockets have zippers, the taper fit and ankle cinch is very flattering and looks great. My ONLY complaint is I wish Arcteryx would offer full size range in the tall sizes. For these pants the tall option doesn't start until medium but there are lots of long lean ladies out there that would appreciate the XS-S tall sizes! I am just about 6ft tall and 145lbs. 26" waist and 36" hips so a 4T would probably be perfect, but because of the adjustable waist I am able to get away with the 6T. Overall I still give these 5 stars, I hope they never stop making them and add in smaller tall sizes and I will definitely buy every colour.
I have hardly stopped wearing these ever since I got them. I love the high waist fit, more casual look to the belt and pockets along with the tapered, jogger style leg. I wish I could have gotten a 14 short (I’ve got slightly more torso than legs) as the legs are a bit too long and causes a shapeless bunching of material at the knee, but I have cuffed the bottom one more time and that has largely resolved it. Same great gamma lt fabric and feel, with good stretch and a bit more relaxed fit to the thighs than the sportier, more technical fitting gamma lt pants.
I struggle to find pants that fit well with my athletic build, 5’8 145lbs and the 6 regular sat right at my ankle which is where I wanted it. These pants are relaxed in the thigh and calf while still being flattering, and are the right fit around the waist, (original gamma are a little snug in my thighs). The ankle cuff isn’t too tight either which is nice. Amazing material, light and breathable yet durable and stretchy. Performed great while climbing, and I will for sure be wearing them hiking too. Need all the Color’s!!
