Uncleanable
Like the ultra lightweight construction. Was handy for backpacking. Wish it came is XS as the s-m is too large for my female head and looks quite wonky for such an expensive item. What really bugs me is that care instructions forbid washing it, so here I am, stuck with a hat full of salt after the summer adventures, not sure how to clean it so the materials of this expensive hat don't decompose on me.
Fantastic hat
Lightest hat and most breathable hatI’ve ever owned extremely packable, have multiple technical hats. Miriam Miriam did you stick you’re looking for the best option possible regardless of price stop thinking and buy this one now.
Good luck if it's soaked in sweat/water
Good hat until it deforms because as the instructions say "only surface clean" and do not wash... hmm what happens when the hat becomes soaked in sweat and dries in variable climates? It'll get deformed. How do you surface clean a hat that's been soaked in sweat??? Specifically in my case the part that gets deformed is most likely the fabric on the underside of the rim. It looks like it shrunk a tiny bit and now the rim is permanently deformed. What kind of running/sports hat works like this??
Another L
Good design, fit, and materials. Super light and incredibly breathable, by far the most breathable hat I’ve found. Might seem like a petty complaint, but the logo fell off after the second use. For this price the branding should not be delaminating immediately. Zero support from the folks at the store when I tried to return it. Arcteryx really stacking up the L’s here lately. Another dud. Think I’m done with this brand.
Light, great fit but hot
I want to like this hat and there is a lot to like. The fit is fantastic, it's VERY light weight and the design is superb. Unfortunately, it doesn't allow air to pass easily and I find that it runs hot. I have the wool 5 panel hat that I find myself choosing over this even on really hot days. If a ventilated version of this hat were to be made, I think it would be one of the very best.
Functional, light, and packable. Spot on.
The hat is an awesome light weight option when you want to keep the sun off and the weight off. It's proven to be unexpectedly durable given the light weight, and easy to keep clean after a rugged adventure. The clasp in the back is a bit finnicky and probably the primary point of design that I would recommend Arc'Teryx explore improving.
Perfect hat for warm weather
Very light weight fabric and low profile hat that does a good job at dumping heat. The brim does a good job at flexing a bit in wind so the hat doesn't get sucked off your head. The slight flex from the shock cord adjuster is brilliant, and the hat lightly forms around your head. It's so light that I forget that I'm wearing it.
Cute style, but could function better on the trail
Some pros and some cons... Pros: cute style, very lightweight, breathable, durable, packs down super small (easily fits into a pocket of a trail vest). Cons: headband is kind of chafe-y, adjustment system could be improved (not very easy to adjust while on the go, hair gets easily caught while trying to adjust while wearing).
New Favorite Hat
This is the lightest most functional hat I have ever owned. The price is a bit off putting though. If you are into ultralight backpacking this is a good piece. It is super light and folds up very small.
Great hat
My grandson is thrilled with his new hat. It fits perfectly. He has trouble finding the right fit. It is also great for comfort and cooling The ventilation is also just what is needed
