Good Backpack for Juniors

Bought this backpack at the beginning of freshman year of college. Functioned pretty well, honestly - had the space for all my textbooks and notebooks, laptop, laptop accessories, etc. and was pretty comfy to wear. Could even stuff my lab coat and goggles in for lab days, or take everything out and stuff in a change of clothes for spending a night at a relative or a friend's. Would be a simple 5-star review...if it wasn't the beginning of junior year and I'm waiting for the backpack to fail any day. One of the straps is almost entirely worn through, and it's to the point where I'm concerned about wearing it on my back. If you won't need a backpack in two years, buy this backpack and it'll do you fine. If you'll need one in two years, then look somewhere else.

GREAT pack except second pocket is too shallow

Big northface fan--I have a few of their products and they've lasted forever. I replaced my old Borealis women's pack when it wore out, and got the unisex because it had slightly larger capacity. I like that I can expand the main compartment to fit more stuff. Only complaint is that the second-largest pocket is only half as tall as the backpack, so when I put stuff in there, the front of the backpack becomes super top-heavy and flops open unless I have it all zipped up. I preferred the women's model with a fully deep second pocket so my things could sit at the bottom of the pack.

Number 3 TNF Borealis

This will be my fourth of TNF Borealis28L Men’s Backpack. My opinion, the best EDC this out there. It has the last similarities in your face Recon same quality and beautiful. Straps are great. I love the bungee cord on the outside of Backpacks and the bottoms and the side for cupholders. It’s about two litters smaller than the Recon also you’re saving about 10 dollars. 💵 zippers are amazing accessibility is easy. I highly recommend it.

No need to shop elsewhere

The backpack was what I expected from Northface, great quality, well constructed, functional and good looking. The service i received from REI however is another story altogether. REI is a company that is true to their clientele and puts the customer's need above all else. I am beyond impressed with my buying experience and customer support. You've earned my loyalty. Thank you.

Good BUT two changes/improvements

I like the size and so far it's held up well. Two changes that would make it great. 1. Make the watter bottle pockets deeper. 2. Add a little stretchy pouch inside the big pocket (against the laptop pouch),otherwise it's a void and I'm digging and digging to find my stuff inside.

Backpack

Great help choosing a new backpack for school. Employee placed sandbags in it and had kid put it on to see if it was comfortable! REI has a good choice of backpacks. Ones that can last through high school!

Great bag! Insane vaule if you get on sale.

Could not be happier with this as a daypack/short adventure pack. The compartments and linings, as well as the overall construction exceeded my expectations. Kept my gear Dry, Clean and quite organzied.

Not to bulky looking and fits a lot of stuff

I got it for ~90, it's deep, fits comfortably, looks great and I liked the back support much better coming from OGIO. I think it's a great bag for the price.
