I’ve owned this pair of Asolo Mid hiking boots for about 10 years, but I only wore them a handful of times on more challenging hikes. During my last hike, the soles separated from the boot—the adhesive appeared to have broken down completely and turned to powder. I hadn’t abused them nor stored them improperly. Thankfully, the sole didn’t fully come off until I reached my car! This sole failure feels less like normal wear and more like adhesive/bond failure, which is a big concern.
This will be my 6th pair of these wonderful approach boots. They've carried me on numerous European hiking and vacation adventures. The most recent pairs are improved with a toe bed that bigger and more accommodating for a wider foot. As long as Asolo keeps making them, I'll keep buying them.
