Merrell  Moab Speed 2 MJ SE Shoes - Women's

My first pair of Merrell’s and my only regret is not buying them sooner. They’re comfy, stylish and go with so many outfits. I’ll definitely be buying again.

The fit of the shoe and the sole are both great. It is even comfy with my Morton's Neuroma I agree with the other reviews that mention the strap. It is not adjustable at all, it just happens to work for me so I am giving 4 stars. I have a size 8 and average width foot. There is 1 star off because the plastic attachment the strap runs through in the front of the foot digs into the side of your pinkie toe as you walk, and becomes more painful throughout the day. It is just tolerable and so I will keep them.

These shoes are stylish-looking, but, unfortunately, very poorly designed. The straps are flimsy, wear out quickly, and fold and twist in their plastic eyelets, which also misalign after even a short walk. As others have noted, the Velcro is not at all adjustable. They are quite comfortable to stand in, so I did not notice these issues immediately.

Exactly what I was looking for in summer walking shoe. I wear an average, size 8 medium. These shoes fit well and are comfortable right out of the box. They are roomy and easy to step in and out of. The velcro strap is sized appropriately for me. It is needed to tighten the shoe so the fit is snug enough to walk briskly. These are very lightweight and airy, perfect for summer. I like the traction on the sole. There is enough support without the spongy feel of running shoes.

Super cute, but for being Merrells I definitely expected higher quality. The strap runs through plastic rings that are not fully stitched down. This causes the strap to slip and become less tight/secure as you’re wearing it throughout the day. The Velcro is weak which means it pops and needs to be re-Velcroed fairly often. Fine, sure, when you’re just walking around but a little terrifying when riding your bike in the middle of the city. Definitely not something I would repurchase and I’m sad that for the price I’ll likely have to retire them after only a few months.

Super cute and the soles are so comfy, but the velcro and the strap have become so weak they are unwearable and pop open with every other step. I purchased end of march, probably wore them successfully in april and may, began to notice the issue but was away traveling and not wearing them all summer. I have since wore them a handful of times and am going to retire them. I was gentle on the shoes (only wear them at my indoor job) and usually any pair lasts a year minimum. This is the quickest a shoe i’ve owned has fallen apart. Theyre cute and comfy so a strap redesign with stronger velcro or adjustable straps so you can tighten as they wear our could change the game. Unfortunately i can’t recommend at all. Waste of money

I am so disappointed in these shoes. These do not slip on and they are in no way adjustable. The strap is ribbon - completely non flex, with a very small velcro closure. I have a feeling that the length of the strap was not scaled up as the shoe size increases. I wear a 9.5, and I do not have a wide foot. Honestly, I could've even sized down to a 9. But once my foot was in, the strap was 2-3" too short. There would be absolutely no way to slide your foot into the tiny closure. When the strap is closed, the space between the two sides of the shoe at the top is ~1". Such a poor design, and I was so excited to wear these in spring and summer. They're much cuter than the salomon rx marie-jeanne, but at least those are adjustable!!

You guys do NOT KNOW WHAT A SIZE 5 IS. I have gotten great shoes from you, and I'm drawn because I can get Vibram soles, but I've bought size 5 boots from you that were actually size 6.5, and these Moab Speed 2 Mary Janes are more like a 7. I'm a size 4.5 woman, and sometimes I manage with your "big kid" shoes size 2.5, which generally are cheaper and use inferior materials. Sometimes I order a woman's 5 and get a woman's 5. I've bought so many pairs from you, but I swore to myself this time that I'm only going to buy from a shoe store. It's no fun being a foot-size minority, and it makes me obsessed with footwear (and with avoiding repetition of my shattered tib/fib at age 60), but I finally have realized that you really don't want my business.

I’m surprised to see so many negative reviews - I love these shoes! I snagged them on REI clearance in a half size too big, but the deal was too good to pass up. That said, the straps work well enough for me so maybe the secret is to size up? Still it would be nice to have more adjustable straps so I’ll give them 4 stars. Overall though, I find these super comfortable and soooo cute!

Bought these when they first came out but unfortunately the velcro and strap length was too long and restricted where I couldn't adjust much of the strap so the entire shoe is loose unless I wore very thick socks, but then the velcro is so weak that if it is not fully in contact, the velcro rips right off from just walking. The ribbon also twists and won't stay in place. Very unfortunate because the shoe itself was quite comfortable the first few steps I got in before the whole strap became lose. Not worth it at all. The straps, velcro and plastic hardware are all very weak and cheap and you really can't do anything about it. I sat down and sewed the ribbon strap part to move the velcro and tacked down the twisting part but the ribbon strap itself is cheap that it eventually started pulling apart.
