Negative first: I think the cinch strap could be heavier and the buckle could be sturdier - the prongs twisted on my and I could not get it unsnapped for a while, and the pack was on, so a bit frustrating but I figured it out and the buckle is not damaged Positive: great design, super fit (I'm 5'5 and could adjust accordingly), easy to pack, really great balance. Love the fabric/eco sense. I'm a plein air painter so I'm using it to carry ALL my painting gear at once on hikes, and as a carry on for flights (painting gear has to go checked, so I swap out clothes for gear upon arrival). This was my plan for this pack, and it works great. I used to use a 35yo internal frame Mountain Smith (still going strong!) but wanted to size down a bit.
excellent travel pack that maximizes usable space
I absolutely love this pack. Too many times, a backpack repurposed for travel has a lot of unnecessary internal dividers and pockets and things that eat up a lot of the usable volume. NOT THIS ONE. Very thoughtfully designed. Love that the entire strap is sewn into the seam of the pack. That has been a common wear point for me in the past. I am hopeful the other commenter is right about this being a spirit personal item. I cruised right onto Jet Blue with it no problem. Ideal #onebag for a long weekend or a full week if you’re minimalist.
