NEMO  Double Haul 30 L Convertible Duffel and Tote

I was looking to potentially replace my TNF Basecamp Voyager 32L duffel in the images. FYI, it is 30L in standard configuration and another 10L (approx) when in tote mode which is too big for my needs. I couldn't find this detail on REI or the Nemo sites. It's a fine bag, but I didn't like how few pockets there were. The idea of cinching down the pack straps is nice, but I felt they would just be getting caught on edges and corners, especially on planes. However, the backpack setup was comfortable and, unlike my TNF duffel, the straps stay tight on your back. The double-black handles on top of the bag did not make for a comfortable carry. The tote handles were generous and comfortable, but in this configuration, if zipped, I didn't feel there was much additional room despite the claims.

I bought this bag for air travel and camping as a carryall for one parent plus one kid. For air travel, it's pretty good-- doesn't fit under the seat, but I like that you can make it into a compact backpack or an expansive tote bag as your family's needs evolve throughout a trip. It really could use one more external pocket to be a great traveling bag, and some kind of internal organization option to be the perfect traveling bag. For camping, it's a great bag for personal items. Definitely an upgrade from my old high school gym bag. It's pretty roomy, so I can fit both my stuff and my kid's stuff. The materials are high quality so I think we'll be using it for a long time.

Double Haul 30L exceeds expectations and is easy to pack has room for extra space is can be used as Duffle Bag for which I purchased this Bag. It can also be used for Backpack or Tote Bag and also as a carry on for your flight. Coated urethane to keep moisture out and Bluesign approved it exceeds other Brands in Quality and Uses.

Great universal bag. Especially good for travel as it is so versatile. At the airport its on my back and short trips its still a good size to carry. I like that is collapses small so it can go in a travel duffel and used at a destination also. It's a great bag to travel with. Green is a nice color. Happy with purchase. %th star missing as I would love a couple more zipper pockets or elastic top pocket inside-I think that would improve it without adding weight.

I bought this because of its dimensions to use for some of the more restrictive airlines. I used this bag in its backpack form (smaller capacity) for a 3.5 day vacation with multiple outfits and sandals. It was well balanced and comfortable on my back through the airport and very easy to get in and out of the overhead bins. It probably weighed about 25 pounds packed with my belongings.

I love it! Perfect size for a weekend or go bag. I like the green with purple trim colors as well.
