In this case, the name JAG is somehow an acronym for comically large toe box, bordering on clown shoe. Even if the Jag had lacing eyelets low enough on the toe box to tighten the toe box, it would still be ill-fitting because it’s so wide underfoot. I have had four pair of Danner 600’s. They have fit me very well, including the insulated Arctic 600, even though I have a narrow foot. Also, the Jag laces are very dainty with one pair less of the speed hooks. Both of these factors make it more difficult to lock in the heel. The Jag is a hit on aesthetics, but a miss on design.
