Poor manufacturing: one shoe tighter than the othe
Pumped for these, but visible difference how or how much mesh was glued into the sole. It makes one shoe wear tighter than the other. I thought it might loosen up as they broke in especially because I wear them to wade in the water but no dice. Still one shoe tighter than the across the metatarsals.
Love my Solamphibians!!
I bought these to take on a beach/hiking vacation up the pacific coast. Only trial shoes I brought. Love them. Have a Morton’s neuroma and these were a lifesaver!!
Versatile and comfortable
Purchased as main hiking shoes for 2 week trip to Ecuador & Galapagos islands. Covered multiple terrains from dry and sandy Cotopaxi, to volcanic rocks, sandy beaches, on board boats, kayaks, underwater snorkelling and very wet and muddy hike at Sierra N volcano. Overall the Solamphibian was impressive and up to the task. The only terrain that was a challenge was the wet compacted path at Sierra N volcano at Isabela island. It was slippery and I needed to be extra careful on sloped parts… but so was everyone else with dedicated hiking shoes. The Solamphibian was super comfy but I wish I ordered a size smaller.
Durable AND comfortable.
I bought these for my husband who works outside, in engine rooms, in the woods hunting, on commercial fishing boats. The only shoes that ever hold up for him are leather boots. But we live in florida and boots arent great for the summer. These have held up through all the torment I know he has put them through and even with his extra wide and flat feet, he finds them very comfortable. They arent "fancy" to the point he wouldn't wear them and loves that he can wear them with out socks, the versatility of these being tennishoes thats also a water shoe is perfect for his everday environments.
Solamphibian
I feel in love once I saw them online. When I put them on it was a different level of comfort I didn’t want to take them off I love Solomon for their versatility and the way they put the customers first 10/10 overall ps. I have them on as I writing this review 🤣
A Salomon design disaster
I love Salomon trail shoes. I’ve lost track of how many pairs I’ve had over the years. You just put them on and that’s it - no having to break them in - they just work. These however are the worst shoes I’ve ever bought. I thought they’d be great for summer dog walks - especially in the morning when grass is wet. However they don’t dry out any quicker than my previous non GTX shoes plus it takes about 10mins to get your feet into them as they have hideous soft backs. Don’t even get me started on the cheap looking materials used. I wish I’d sent them back.
Disappointed
Besides the fact that these sandals are not comfortable and can cause irritation or even injury to your feet when worn without socks, I was extremely disappointed with their performance in the rain. I bought them specifically for this purpose, and I tested them only once, in the rain, just one day after purchasing them. Unfortunately, they became like a bowl full of water, and my feet were basically submerged. Even worse, the water that got inside the sandals had no way to drain out. I find this quite ridiculous because these sandals are specifically designed for outdoor and wet conditions, yet they absorbed and retained more water than a regular shoe would. This was very disappointing and frustrating. I would really appreciate it if you could look into this issue and help me resolve it.
Great
I have hiked in them (short 3-5 mile hikes) and these are comfortable even when wet. The laces are very long and were slipping out of their pocket occasionally so I cut them down to a few inches which did the trick. Easy parachute cord. I live in GA and have gone swimming with these, trekking through rivers, hiking etc and they are great. The clay and some tiny pebbles still get through the mesh and I have to take off the shoes occasionally and clean them out.
Super cool shoe!
Huge brand fan. Saw these and jumped on it. Love the way they look and they are super comfortable walking. I have a wider than normal foot so they are a tad bit tight. I am hoping that they will stretch a little. They are a little larger than most shoes from a visual standpoint. I love when Salomon makes cool looking shoes like this and keeps being innovative! I live in the south and plan on wearing these daily with no socks so we will see! Lol
Best hiking shoes I ever have
At first, I thought these were just regular watershoes. Yet I wore them on multiple hikes in Sedona. They are very comfortable for hiking and suitable for different terrains. They have nice grips that provide decent friction for rocky trails. The thick base also allows me to cross shallow streams without getting wet. Even though I accidentally stepped into water, they dried out extremely fast. I really pleased with my purchase!
