Easy switching between bikes
Instructions and installation was easy to follow. We mainly use this bike seat on our commuter bikes, and our rear racks have a spring hinge clip. I was worried the mounting mechanism for the seat wouldn't fit over the clip, but it does, and we haven't had any issues. Took our 2yro on a few rides and she loves hanging onto the side handles. The storage compartment can fit her sweater and some snacks, I wish there was a cup holder for her water bottle as it won't fit in the storage compartment. I'm glad I went with the RM model, it's easy to switch from one bike to another. Overall, great quality, and would recommend buying.
Seems comfortable for the kids. Not compatible with my Bike Friday.
I bought two of the rack-mounted version to stick on the back of a Bike Friday Haul-a-Day Elite. The part of the seat that is meant to keep the passengers' feet out of the spokes was not straight. Some of them bent inward towards the wheel and created issues sliding the seat onto the rack and got caught on the cargo bag/hammocks. Some bent outwards and then the back of my foot bumped into them. It would be nice if they were removable. Also, the seats don't fit the bike if the top platform is installed on the back. That's more on Bike Friday, but they are intertwined companies and should be compatible.
10/10 product. !
Love this seat! My toddler and I couldn’t be happier. She just turned two and has loved getting to be right with me when I bike through the neighborhood! It was incredibly easy to attach to my bike. I did have to fight the straps a bit to get them adjusted but once I figured it out they work perfectly. Very secure. I feel confident with my little one behind me.
Good choice
This is a comfortable bike seat. It is easy to attach to your bike and also adjusting the straps to the right size goes easy. The little basket on the backside is very handy to take a small plaid or rain jacket with you.
Awesome Dash RM
The new Burley Dash RM is wonderful. Great design, easy to clean, if you are needed to take it on and off that is easy as well and fast. As always, great job Burley.
Great seat, easy to connect
Great seat, easy to connect to my bike rack. The plastic mesh used to make a compartment on the back of the seat needs to be redesigned...meaning it will fall out, however, the seat protects my kid and the design allows room for the helmet. I do appreciate the fact the foot height can be easily adjusted and that there are bands to keep my kids feet in place and not get caught in the bike wheel. Also nice is with the bike rack mounting model (btw I use this seat on an electric bike with out any issues) is the seat can be removed very easily.
Great carrier, terrible harness.
The Dash RM is a nice, well-made rack mounted carrier. It is easy to install and remove. My main issue with the rack is the child harness, which is a major factor in a product like this. The shoulder straps do not have nearly enough adjustment and are very difficult to adjust. They also don't seem to properly tighten down on a child in the seat. I consistently lookback and see that the straps have fallen off around my child's shoulders. It is very disconcerting as this is a critical safety feature of the rack.
The only seat that I felt my strong, squirmy kid could safely sit in
My main concern in finding a seat (aside from compatibility to my bike/rack) was safety -- specifically one with a strong, squirm-proof strap system for my "i want out right now" son. Since he sits right behind me and I can't keep an eye on him every second, I wanted the peace of mind that he would not be able to wiggle out of the straps. The 5-point harness system alone sold me. Most other seats only had a 3-point system. So far it's been easy to use, comfortable for my son, and he seems to really enjoy it. He has been able to get his feet out of the foot-loops, but his body has stayed secure. Overall I am happy with my purchase. If it wasn't for my wife's bike frame, we probably would have bought the frame-mounted seat however, and possibly the X version that has recline since my son has fallen asleep a couple times while riding and I think those models ofter a bit more suspension and comfort.
Great product and easy install!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great product and was easy to install. It looks good and is very functional. The multi point harness is awesome! Only thing I wish was different is the way the seat back about 3/4 of the way up pushes forward. Our grandson (who’s not 1 yet) has a hard time because his head hits right there and it pushes him forward. As soon as he gets a little bigger I believe that will get much better.
Easy Install, Good Storage, Lousy Foot Straps
This was super easy to install. It fits my child perfectly and something he can continue to grow with. I love that I can keep my keys, wallet, inhaler, and a small snack in the storage compartment in the back. The only reason I took off two stars is because one of the straps for the feet ripped after the first time we used the seat, and completely came off by the 5th use.
