Helly Hansen  HH Classic Trench Coat - Women's

I decided on this particular raincoat in the tan color because of its length and its more sophisticated trench-coat look. But be forewarned that it runs big. Way big. I initially ordered a medium for my 5'6", 135 lb. frame but returned it because the arms hung below my hands, and the elastic wrist was too big to hold it there. I then ordered the small, and while the arms aren't quite as long and the elastic wrist rests loosely on my thumb joint, I would switch it out again for an extra small if one were available. Either that size sold out in both colors and no one wrote a review, or it's not available at all. On the upside. the hood fits well enough that the visor is actually a visor, it's definitely waterproof as well as warm, and I feel like a secret agent with a hood.

I was looking for a light weight, longer length rain jacket that was a little more on the stylish side for work trips but also traveling to Europe. This HH jacket checks all those boxes for me! It’s lightweight enough to use during a warm summer rain, but also wind resistance and would work well for a cold, bitting winter rain too. The fit is roomy, but not overly large meaning you can easily wear this over a winter sweater without feeling too constricted nor needing to size up. The end of the sleeves are fitted with elastic to help keep the rain out and the sleeve in place but it also isn’t too tight as to be uncomfortable. The jacket has a silky feeling inside layer, but it is still nice and lightweight keeping it packable in luggage without taking up too much room.
