Merrell  Moab Adventure 3 Chelsea Waterproof Boots - Men's

Pull strap broke the third time I put these on and I was not even pulling hard. I would think this would be something that was tested for slip on boots. Your mileage may vary, but given my past Merrell experience I would proceed with caution. They didn't run large as some reviews stated.

I own a 1.5 year old pair of Merrell Moab 3 hiking shoes that fit verry nicely in 11 Wide. So I thought I'd try these Moab Chelsea Boots and expected the same size to be a relatively close fit, but I was very wrong. These things *slide* around on my feet like crazy. The openings at the top are huge, especially compared to a pair of Ariat Turbos that I was also testing. Even if the Merrell boots fit, I would likely have returned them if the opening was still that large because all they'll do is get dirt and debris inside them when wearing them with shorts. I'm done trying to order shoes and boots that are only available *online*. It just ends up being a giant waste of time returning them since companies don't bother maintaining consistent sizes between product lines of the same name.

I have had two pairs and they are incredibly versatile. Will last 2-3 seasons of daily winter use before sole is worn down to a smooth surface. I use them for dog walking and snowshoeing. Typically include Yaktrax for the full winter season. I think traction is consistent with other brands (vibram sole). I find them to be effectively insulated, perfect for active wear. Waterproofing is reliable but a little shoe polish compliments the technical features to keep water out. Fit is perfect for active use, I did replace the inner footbed for more support.

Boots can be tough. Often times takes weeks to break them in. I've been in the market for a chelsea style boot for a while something i can wear for work, hiking, or a night out. My favorite soles are Vibram and when I saw these on sale I had to go for it. The leather is soft and tough, great aesthetics in my opinion. Merrell delivers again with a tough boot, very nice light weight, waterproof. I ordered online and when they arrived I tried them on in the store and amazingly they feel great right out of the box. Great cushion on the inside from. Very excited to wear these as it starts to get cooler.

I was excited about these shoes, but then discovered they were hard to get on. After a couple of days I purchased a shoe horn so my feet would go in more smoothly but still had to use the pull tabs a lot. Today, 7 days after I started wearing them twice a day, one of the pull tabs ripped off. I will be returning these soon.

I’ve had two pairs of the lace up version of these boots. Decided to try pull on. Awesome. Love that these come in wide, to fit my duck feet. Fit is perfect.

My only concern is will it stretch out over time since you can’t lace up

As other reviewers mentioned I too found these boots over sized. More specifically they’re too big across the top of the foot causing them to have a folded billowed look while wearing them. I ware size 15 and the fit heel to toe was perfect, but way too much room everywhere else to be a viable boot for me. I used a shoehorn to get them on as the boot straps looked weak like they’d have torn by pulling them on. Nice looking boots otherwise.

I have had these boots for 3 days and REI says I need to do a review, so here it goes. I like the color, shipping was fast, they seem to fit true to size, Initially they feel comfortable especially for the 15 minutes I wore them to work today. The sole looks like it will be good in the snow but we don't have snow yet so can't review that. Maybe the review requests should go out after a month or so so I can give a better realistic review.

True to size and super comfortable right out of the box. Took my dog for a walk and they were great on road and supportive enough for a light hike in the forest on uneven terrain. They look great for casual wear but will be my new winter work horse for daily work wear.
