Climbing with these was incredible. I'm used to using much heavier gear and I barely noticed these hanging off me while on the ascent. The dogbones on these are nice and stiff (and have remained so thus far) and the carabiner action is very good. When I loan these out at the crag, they have always been an immediate hit. My one complaint is that they seem to show wear much more readily than other draws I've used in the past. Overall a terrific product for reducing pack and climb weight while also getting the job done.
Mammut always delivers amazing quality. The Sender Keylock QuickDraws are no exception. However, the gate is smaller on this QuickDraw compared to others. Several times I have had my finger get stuck or snag in the gate as I push or pull the rope into the QuickDraw. Would recommend the gate just be slightly bigger like their other QuickDraws. If you have smaller fingers this may not be an issue. I ended up removing the carabiner from the bottom and replaced it with another set due to this issue.
Very solid sport draw. The Sender carabiner is a bit smaller and with a slimmer profile than most other draws, saving weight. Made for sport, but I even bring it on some trad routes as it is lightweight enough. The one improvement I wish for is a wired version that has a snag free nose (similar to the DMM Chimera or the Camp Dyon). This is a solid buy if you're after a comfortable sport draw with a focus on weight saving!
These guys are super lightweight compared to their workhorse counterpart, but I think this comes at the expense of ergonomics. The dog bone is a little shorter and a little less stiff, which causes them to move around a little more when trying to clip the rope, especially on real steep lines. Not my go to for project or near-limit lines where I might be making hard clips, but a good option for onsight attempts.
based on the width of the dogbone, I did not expect these to come in as light as they do but WOW! you could take 20 of these up a huge wall and not even realize you have them! that said, they do move quite a bit when you are trying to clip in your rope; especially on overhung climbs when it's just hanging. nothing you can do about that though. the overall weight (or lack thereof) is remarkable.
Extremely easy to use and clip so much smoother than any other quickdraw. The bent gate plus being the perfect size to wrap a hand around makes clipping easy, even with a bad hold on the rock. They can sometimes be slightly more difficult to unclip than a straight gate, but this only occurs when the rope is excessively tensioned and is pretty easy to remedy.
The draws are a bit short, and the carabiners are a bit small compared to what I'm used to clipping (took some finagling) but they're super lightweight and solid. Just know they'll take some getting used to.
Solid gate operation on both the straight and bent gates. Dog one grabs nicely when needed if you are working a route. Racks very nicely. All in all another great product from Mammut!
I love the carabiners and gates. Super snappy and light without a nose to catch on the harness. I wish the dog bones were a little longer though. Overall a fantastic QuickDraw.
The draws are light and strong so they make for easy packing. These draws are short though which is not always ideal on traversing sport routes
