[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Most comfortable I've ever slept while camping! My fiance and I used this and the previous version of the pad on a 7 day car camping trip through Big Bend State Park and then the National Park. Never once woke up uncomfortable or sore. This newer model is really easy to get back into the bag. Self inflates pretty quickly and easy to fill inflate with a couple extra breaths if you forget a pump. One night was so hot we couldn't use the sleeping bags and it was soft to lie directly on. I really recommend this for when weight/space aren't as much of an issue. We flew down to Texas and both pads and other gear fit into my REI 90L duffel. Worth packing heavy to be so comfortable
This is my second double air mattress from sea to summit. The first one had a delamination issue. They sent me a new one in short order. We love the mattress and a company that stands behind their product!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My only issue is that I wish I had ordered a wider mattress. It does deflate slightly, but I am a very restless sleeper. Easy to refill; easy to deflate.
I'll tell you what, this sleeping pad has changed the camping game for me! I have always found myself shivering through the night even with a heavy duty sleeping bag or waking up with a rock stabbing in my side. Not any more! I took this sleeping pad to moab on a family camping trip and I was the only one with a sleepless night. Its so comfortable, it feels like Im sleeping on my cozy mattress at home. No rocks or roots stabbing into your back! The air provides within the pad provides a level of insulation keeping you warm all night. I promise you wont wake up from any sort of discomfort. On top of all of that, its very easy to inflate with the pump sack and deflate with the one way valve. I highly recommend this sleeping pad!
Grabbed this for its extra wide profile and am not going to sugar coat it, this just makes camping way better. I understand why people like sleeping in the outdoors when you wake up actually refreshed and not with back aches or shivering. I can't wait to camp more this summer!
I have many sleeping pads for backpacking and car camping and this deluxe pad is best for car camping; I purchased the double. After using it for a couple nights, my wife and I concluded this pad feels best when we inflate it so it is firmer. I’ve become a fan of Sea to Summit pads due to their simplicity, particularly the feature providing an inflation bag to fill with air, connect to the pad, and squeeze to inflate the pad. This reduces blowing directly into the pad with my mouth, adding moisture into the pad, and making me dizzy and out of breath in the process. My wife likes this particular pad because it is very comfortable (thick at nearly four inches) and it doesn’t make noise when we move about during the night, a complaint she expresses frequently with our lighter backpacking pads. The one challenge I’ve noticed so far is the inflation. At first I thought I had to fill each side independently. Two pads are constructed together to create the double and there is an inflation valve port on each side. After considerable inflation, it became clear each value would fill the entire pad, so I only needed to use one port. But given the size of the pad, it took considerable effort. Also, this pad is much heavier than my backpacking pads so it doesn’t move around as easily when I’m squeezing the inflation bag. So while the lighter pads will move about without disconnecting from the inflation bag, this heavier pad tends to stay in place and separate from the inflation bag (because I move the bag about while squeezing it), sometimes even pulling the pad’s one-way valve portion out, releasing considerable air. I attempted to address this keeping the inflation bag as close to the pad as possible as I squeezed it, but I still didn’t always get it right and they’d separate. I hope this doesn’t get worse as the plastic connectors age. This is a great pad and I am looking forward to using it more as my wife and I car camp this summer. And given the high ‘R’ value of well over 7, it will be a great pad when we find ourselves camping in cold weather!
