We love this! We camp in the Pacific Northwest and it gets cold at night. This sleeping pad is comfortable and keeps you warm! The mix between foam and air is a perfect combination. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because the inflation port is kind of annoying. You flip one side to inflate and then flip the other side to deflate. Seems simple… but if you leave the cap off by accident no matter if it’s on inflate or deflate, the air will come out. Or if the cap is not 100% on the air will come out. And the cap is hard to push in. It’s a great mattress and despite that I will still use it every trip. It’s worth it!
Used this pad for 8 days in Wyoming with a couple morning in the upper 20’s and the rest mid and upper 30’s. The pad was warm and comfortable. Some people complained about the valve leaking but once aired up I didn’t have add any additional air in the 8 days. I used the case to air it up. There was a learning curve and took a bit to air it up but it worked. When I got home I did order the pump with the usb charging cable. Haven’t tried it out yet but hopeful it has enough power to inflate this double pad as it takes a good amount of air. I wouldn’t recommend trying to use your lungs. 😂
I bought the Insulated Klymaloft Sleeping Pad - Double 3 months ago. I finally bought a pump and got it out to use it for the first time... and it doesn't retain air. I filled it completely. Snapped the cap closed (it's tough as hell to close but I made sure it's sealed)... and found the sleeping pad about an hour later, empty. Brand new. I filled it back up 2 more times to make sure I didn't just leave the cap open. I can't hear a leak? Doesn't retain air. And shopify doesn't provide a clear way to communicate with Klymaloft to resolve the issue.
After many years of using ultralight pads, I finally decided to "upgrade" my comfort for car camping or cabin overnights. This does not pack down smal, especially witj the added insulation propertiesl. I would not recommend for backpacking. But, if you have space and don't mind the weight, the combination of air and foam is excellent. I also really like how the foot area lacks the foam and creates a slight drop. The valve is different as it "flips" on an axis to change functions, but check out a video on it and you'll be all set. I also ordered a small pump for this, as there's no way I would want to inflate myself. Overall, great pad that I expect to use for years to come when comfort takes priority over size and weight and I still want a little insulation.
Ordered a double after comparing to several other well known brands for trips with my spouse and our toddler. I knew we didn’t want to sacrifice on comfort just for some ounce pinching, especially being in the backcountry with a tot. Our kiddo was so excited to try it out once it arrived. It’s incredibly comfortable, well lofted and takes little time to inflate with the pump sack. I’m overall impressed. As our kiddo gets older we will of course have to get a second one. As of right now this fits our needs perfectly!
Had a big foam pad inside of it. I was able to cut it out and remove it so it can be more of a backpacking pad. It is still pretty bulky for backpacking with the pad removed. R&D of the product, the pad is great. It would be better if it can be removable like I made it. Stayed warm in 20 degree weather in Montana the other week. Big bag to blow it up. Didn’t make much noise when moving. Great pad other than being a bit bulky. Not a backpacking pad with the foam still inside.
Pad itself appears well made, but was so narrow I could not give it a honest try out. Laying flat on my back it did feel comfortable but my arms slid off the sides. If inside a tight mummy cocoon sleeping bag it might be better. I'm 6' and 200 lbs for reference, so if you are my size or bigger, avoid. If you are quite a bit smaller, maybe it would work good for you. Inflating with the additional electric pump was excellent, just a bummer to have to buy that separate.
I bought this about 2 weeks ago for camping in the bed of my truck with my significant other. The pad felt great and kept us pretty warm. However the pad deflated twice throughout the night resulting in us waking up getting out of the way to re inflate. When we finally woke up for the day I felt alright however my significant other’s back and arm hurt from sleeping without air in the pad. I will be trying it out to see if it was user error in any way.
so freaking nice! I sleep on it 7 days in a row for work and it's amazing. I wouldn't backpack with it because it's fairly bulky but so comfy for car camping or if you can get it packed up on a mule! Definitely need at least a 3 person tent for it to fit. i have the klymit cross canton 3p tent and they work together great! my boyfriend and i have shared it and he loves it too. one of my favorite camping peices.
I was honestly a little skeptical at first because of the high price tag and lack of reviews, but I am really glad I went for this sleeping pad. Before this, I used the therm-a-rest Dreamtime sleeping pad, which was a great pad for warmth, but lacked in areas like loft (I’m a slide sleeper) and packability. This klymaloft sleeping pad is not only much thicker at 5 inches, but it also packs much smaller than you would expect it to. I paired this with the Big Agnes echo park 0 degree bag and they work perfectly together as the echo park fits around the pad like a bedsheet. I went camping in Tahoe a few times with this setup and even though it was freezing, I was still very warm and comfortable. Overall I’m really happy with my purchase and I will definitely be using this for all my car camping, whether it’s spending a hot summer night in Joshua tree, or sleeping below freezing in the winters of Yosemite.
