Hat meets all my needs. Definitely worth the money
It works great. Meets my requirements (I live in So. Calif): good ventilation, SPF50, wide enough brim to block direct sun onto face/neck, it floats, I selected a snug fit), plus there's a 'secret compartment' in the brim, excellent construction, machine washable. Definitely worth the price.
Significantly cooler than the standard airflo hat
When I received this hat I was quite skeptical that this hat would provide increased ventilation because there is a fabric on the inside of the Hat covering the mesh. But, having worn the hat for 2 days now I can say that it is significantly cooler than my original air flow hat when there is any Breeze. That said, this hat retains all the great properties of the original hair flow hat in that it is nearly indestructible, can be crushed and it returns to shape, it floats, and can be washed whenever it gets dirty. This is my third Tilley hat and they're all great hats.. one of the great virtues of this hat is that it comes in incremental sizing which is very accurate instead of the small, medium and large sizing that most hats provide.
